updated list
1. Borneo (Cant beat the original. Cast was great, the excitement and adventure was amazing, and it set the tone for all seasons to follow it) 2. Pearl Islands (Pirate theme was good, lots of strong cast members, Looting twist was fun, the market setup was great, challenges were fun) 3. Marquesas (Not a personal favorite of mine, but I cant ignore the power shift, the opinionated cast, and the unique location) 4. China (Pretty decent cast, good location, good challenges, but a bit too over-produced) 5. Palau (I liked the opening twists, and the strategy and dynamics of one tribe winning all the immunity challenges) 6. Micronesia (Blindsides and blunders were great, but the many of the "fans" were recruits, and some of it even seemed staged to me.) 7. Africa (I liked the struggle of the season, but the strategy wasnt great. Ethan was a nice guy, but didnt come off as a great player and strategist) 8. Amazon (Rob C, Jenna, Heidi, and Matthew carried the season) 9. Thailand (I like this season, but I cant defend some of the bad challenges, the delayed merge, and too many of the castaways being duds) 10. Australia (I think this season was more hype than substance) 11. Guatemala (Stephenie ruined the season, otherwise it'd be much higher) 12. All-Stars (For an all-star game, there sure were some dumb strategic moves) Havent seen Vanuatu, Exile Island, Cook Islands, or Fiji |

1. Borneo - You just cannot beat it.
2. Pearl Islands - Utterly brilliant in every way. 3. China - I maybe a minority here, but I loved China and it worked perfectly for me. 4. Guatamala - I was so heavily into this season it wasn't funny. In heinsite I have to admit I don't understand why I ever was, but I guess, the fact I was is was it is ranked so high. 5. Amazon - Interesting season 6. Marqueses - Other then having to watch Neleh for a year on KUTV after the game... it was great 7. Micronesia - May increase its ranking at a later date. Only downside was a average mid-game (JohathonChrist to Eliza's boot) where way to many good people left. 8. Africa - I did enjoy it because it is so different. 9. Exile Island - Casaya & Cirie really did make this season. Shitty end though. 10. Palau - Bleh. Mid section 11. Outback - I use to love this season alot, but repeat viewing really sucked the life out of it. It didn't hold up at all (Jerri & Jeff made this season for me). 12. Vanautu. - Again, just bleh 13. All-Stars - The bitterness ruined it for me 14. Cook Islands - Lets not go there really. 15. Thailand - The best winner ever came from one of the worst seasons. Doesn't matter. Brian Heidek is still our Lord and Master. 16. Fiji - I still havn't been able to watching anything past Sylvia's boot. Never will properly. |

1.Borneo-Classic. Nothing will ever touch this season for greatness.There was magic in the air when this came on,and even without nostalgia, it still holds up
as both the perfect survivor season, a great drama, a mirror on human behavoir and a cultural phenomenon.Also,the cast was arguably the best. Richard Hatch is
the single most rememorable person in the whole reality genre.
2.Pearl Islands-What can I say? One of the best casts ever, great editing,great theme,great everything. I could watch PI a million times and never get bored. 3.Amazon-Amazon is to PI what Resevoir Dogs is to Pulp Fiction, or A New Hope is to The Empire Strikes Back, an inferior cousin. However, that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the hell out of it. This was a very fun season to watch. 4.All Stars-It wasn't what anyone wanted out of an All Star season. I remember the poster IAMSPOILER who said that the final 3 consisted of Rupert,Rob C and Brian, and when that turned out to be wrong I was so disapointed. However,it was very entertaining for what it was.It was almost operatic in a way.Lex is Richard III,or Nero.Boston Rob is a greek tragic figure,perhaps like Oedipus. I'm a big Boston Rob booster, but it was fascinating to see him rise and fall like so many before him. Episode 1 of the saga of Romber is well worth watching. 5.Africa-I've always loved this season and was confused at its hatred. I thought it was superior in many ways to the Outback,to which it was compared.I thought the conditions were more epic,the cast was a little bit crazier(and thus,more entertaining), the stratagy sucked but that made it more fun. I suppose it suffered because of September 11th as well, and I can understand why people would rather watch Friends(although I've never seen it myself). I just really like this season, and have fond enough feelings for it to rank it this high. 6.Thailand and Panama:Exile Island.I'm fond of both these seasons. If Panama had better editing, I would of ranked it higher however. Casaya is one of the coolest tribes in Survivor history,and the rest of the cast wasn't half bad either. Everyone had a rememorable moment at least. I wish they had showed more of Courtney acting like a unatic,and more of Bobdawg(I hope and pray that a DVD of Panama comes out with lots of extra footage).Terry was a great anti hero. Everyone for the most part had a good stratagy, very fun season. What can I say about Thailand? I love it, but hardly anyone else does. It had a great cast that wasn't boring at all imo, and Brian played masterfully. |
