No one really ruined this season. We had a final five of all interesting characters to the fullest, which is a rare find nowadays. We had a completely interesting final five in Borneo, Australia, Marquesas, Fans vs. Favorites, and now Tocantins. We usually have one (or more downer) in the bunch every other time (Kim J., Jan, Butch, Darrah, Amber, Julie, Jenn, Cindy, Lydia, Danni, Danielle, Sundra, Becky, Boo, Cassandra, Amanda - S15 only, Susie). That's usually a good sign for a season holding up in terms of re-watchability, although Pearl Islands/Amazon/Vanuatu/Exile Island and in my opinon Gabon, also seem to stand the test of time in terms of rewatchability unlike seasons that are usually a bore on second viewing. With Africa, you get a fairly interesting Pre-Merge and a mediocre Post-Merge. Thailand, it isn't give enough credit for being a decent season, I find the later Post-Merge episode to be the best (starting around Final 7/8). All-Stars, entertaining as a whole just very unsatisfying. I wouldn't plan on watching it again anytime soon. Palau, it'll be a couple of years before I even try to make it half way through this one. What a snooze on second viewing. The finale was pretty epic, though, I'll give it that. Guatemala, it had a pretty great pre-merge and a few good episodes Post-Merge but overall you had boring characters make it to the end who you knew nothing about. A bad ending can bring down a season as a whole. Cook Islands, besides the second episode where Billy falls in love, the mutiny episode, the merge episode and the finale, this season sucked as a whole. The only highlights of it were Cao Boi, Jonathan, and an amazing final two/final tribal council. Probably the greatest one since Borneo. Fiji, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Suffers from a horrid pre-merge and blande post-merge episodes minus the Edgardo boot and Yau-Man using his idol. Earl's victory was inevitable and the finale was OK, not bad but not terrific either. China, in my mind, was on the cusp of feeling like an old school Survivor season. We had 16 people, which is ALWAYS good and an amazing cast. We got to know nearly every castaway who was voted off except a few and the boring people weren't as boring as those who came before them. It's a good season just after James goes, the episodes go slightly downhill with a Erik/Peih Gee pagoning and then Todd ruling the roost for the finale. Although it was a pleasant surprise to see Courtney come in second. Gabon can be debated among people for a while but I think it's a fantastic season as a whole, partially due to all the screwy editing and it kind of reminds me of Survivor: Amazon in that aspect. We had a very unlikely winner (and final two), and the entire show up until Episode 10 was focused on Randy, which is always good. Marcus the favorite to win was taken out at 10, everything about this season is just whacked and very entertaining as a whole.
