Is there even that many people that start watching it in post-ASS seasons? I know my mom started watching in Guatemala but that was only becuase I made her watch the Borneo and the Outback on DVD and she became obsessed. I just can't see someone watching most of the post-ASS seasons and getting hooked.

Unfortunately, I didn't even know what the show was called, so I didn't watch it again until the General's boot in Marquesas. Missed the next episode and the finale, but I finally caught Thailand from the start and have been hooked since.

I'm 23 now and I started watching from the first season when I was 15. I tuned in a few episodes into it, I think it was the gross food challenge that intrigued me. Up until Exile Island, I think I've only missed one episode of Thailand. In total, I've watched every season except for China and Exile Island. Anybody remember the old Survivor Sucks website? I loved their recaps, that's how I found the ezboard forum. I had an account there in 2001 but I mostly lurked. I only "officially" started posting during Marquesas. So yeah, I'm an old timer around here

Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I remember watching the premiere by mistake while I was channel surfing when Pagong got off their boat and landed on their beach. They had a lot of commercials for Borneo but then I realized it wasn't such a bad show so I kept following it till this day. Except for Micronesia which I stopped watching after Tracy got voted off and then got on again when Erik was voted out. I posted on and off during Thailand/Amazon but got a new nic to post by the time ASS rolled around (I think).

Then I remember me and my family decided to watch an episode because it was ground breaking television and was constantly talked about. I remember the episode too, it was the Jenna boot. We didn;t understand what was going on, but we did love Jenna because to a casual viewer in the first season she was great (this does not include ASS), and she was voted off so we all thought that we just tuned in too late and didn't watch the rest. Then I remember my best friend watched it in Marquesas, and I started watching it at the Tammy boot episode. I've been watching ever since, and have seen ever season now! I also remember a similar thing with Big Brother. I remember Jordan getting the boot in the first season, but nothing after that (go figure...) then I remember the first week of the 2nd season and cried when Sheryl got voted off (don't ask why), stopped watching, watched the first 2 weeks of Big Brother 3, stopped then started watching when Amy came back, and watched ever since. The only reality show I've watched since the very beggining and kept watching was TAR. I also cried when Nancy and Emily got booted :P

Posts: 6 (10/15/08 3:57 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I have watched all series from the first until now except for Marquesas which we didn't get in Australia because we had our own Australian version - which was actually pretty funny, the very first contestent off voted for themselves and one of the final three had a nervous breakdown over being betrayed for a spot in the final two. I have yet to see Boston Rob be an asshole so I might pick up the DVDs when i get a chance.

I missed like four first-run episodes and went back and watched three of them (still haven't seen one of the early Vanuatu episodes). I'm certainly one of the "original viewers" but I think at least half of the current ratings can be attributed to that group. Some others.... The Amazing Race: Caught the S1 finale. Then watched S2 until about six episodes before the end, missing one episode while I was on vacation and forgetting about it entirely. Watched S3 in full and every season since, catching up on the first two via IRC back in '05. Big Brother: Watched parts of the first three weeks and the online live feed before quitting entirely, 100% sure of Eddie's victory. Watched S2 from the start because I heard the format was revised. It started off slow but had its moments until about a month in when it really gained momentum. Watched S3 and still think it's the best, then I didn't bother watching S4 after the premiere since I loathed the cast/twist. S5 pissed me off with the Twin Beast nonsense and absolutely collapsed dramatically after Jase finally left, so I bailed when Will was sent home. Watched all of S6 onward except for about every other episode of S10's last three weeks.

My first memory of the show was coming home from a little league practice and I was excited for this new show my grandma had told me about and everybody was talking about. I sat down in front of the TV with the rest of the family and was mesmerized by the theme song. My mom called Stacy a bitch and I was like :o. Wednesdays were EVENTS. I haven't missed an episode since (except some of Exile Island which doesn't count because it sucked so hard). I also remember Survivor's poor little bastard child show, Big Brother that came on right after it and hating on George, Jamie and Brittany . It's really crazy to think about how different everything was back then...

My first episode was the Australia finale because I was flipping through channels and thought Elisabeth was HOT at Final TC. It was that stupid fake show Survivor, but I decided to watch anyway. Only missed the Africa finale, Thailand episode 8, Vanuatu episode 2, and Exile Island episode 3, but I watched them a day after anyway. ^_^
