Which season would be considered a fan-favourite though? Probably Cook Islands.

I love a link to the post where Erik says that but otherwise until I see some announcement on tvshowsondvd.com I really don't believe it.

Er, that link actually explicitly says he hasn't been contacted about a DVD.
Paramount wouldn't hype up Survivor DVD releases as having "a huge request for the show" considering what else they have in their catalog and how long they've sat on it. They just released My Three Sons; I'd be more inclined to think they were referring to that than Survivor. I'm just surprised that the most obvious "Perfect way to release more seasons" hasn't been brought up; Amazon.com's new burn-on-demand program which includes old Nickelodeon titles (woohoo, I finally have Doug on DVD), which is a division of...you guessed it, Paramount. |

It would surprise me if there is much demand for family oriented light comedy shows from the 1950's and 1960's such as My Three Sons on DVD. That type
of show doesn't date well at all because they are way too innocent. I can see a demand for law enforcement oriented dramas, westerns, science fiction
shows (eg. Star Trek), doctor shows and heavier comedy (eg. Honeymooners, Dick Van Dyke) from that period.
Regardless of Paramount's position it is asinine that most Survivor seasons are not yet released on DVD but that Scott Baio is 45 and Single has been released and that all seasons of Project Runway, apart from the current season will be available by the end of this year. One of the major entertainment magazines (Entertainment Weekly, I think) compiled a list of the best classic television programs of the past 25 years and Survivor finished 6th (TAR ranked somewhere in the 50's). Only The Simpsons, The Sopranos, Seinfeld, The X Files and Desperate Housewives ranked higher. Perhaps we will see the rest of the seasons released on DVD once Survivor is off the air and there is no current season to watch. |

I agree. People make not like it here but most Survivor fans consider it one of the best seasons

It was basically Marquesas 2.0 with a VERY less satisfying winner and poor character development.
