Jan, bless her senile soul, settled for third and could have shaken things up Sook jai was BORING, with the exception of Shii Ann Helen, however, was aways entertaining. I do agree that the cast was had potential to be good but it just ended up being a disappointment, whether it be because of the Pagoning, bad gameplay, or just bad editing

I started this thread because it was made to seem that Thailand being a bad season was practically a fact, when it is contentious. I don't just like Thailand in comparison to worse seasons, I actually really enjoy it on its own terms

The reason I like watching Survivor is watching people interact. You could counter that by saying "then get a life!", or "sit in a park" or something like that, which is true, I do. Despite my obvious fandom of Survivor and other shows, it actually doesn't take up very much of my time. I go camping, hang out with family and friends, argue, love life, try to avoid the authorities, etc. True, Survivor is very manufactured, but if you compare it to BBUK, which is far more "realistic" then Survivor, the things you learn about the people are usually the same That's what she said

That is easily one of the best finale episodes they have ever produced. The music, the pacing, the flashbacks, the drama, it has everything. In my opinion, the finale almost single handedly vaults Thailand into the upper half of Survivor seasons. That is the way you are supposed to end a season.

We did 1-3, then we jumped ahead to Pearl Islands, Amazon, and Palau, and then we went back to Thailand. Thailand was the season they have liked the least so far, it was too slow and uneventful (at least until the finale). This is the first time they have ever watched any of the seasons. Before, they were too young. Pearl Islands has been my kids' favorite season so far. That makes sense. It is my favorite too. Next up for us is Marquesas. I have high hopes for that one. It is my second favorite season, right behind Pearl Islands. We're doing Marquesas, then All-Stars, and then probably Vanuatu.

I wish there was a better explanation than that. I have over 1200 videotapes. :-P Although I'm not showing them any seasons after Guatemala. What do I look like, a sadist? As far as they know, there were only 11 seasons. So there.

Of the post Guatemala seasons, Survivor China is the most similar to the early seasons. It only had 16 players and all of them were developed to a decent extent. The season still had the hidden (actually a misnomer since it was in plain view) immunity idol but at least it did not feature Exile Island.not
