I still don't get why you keep harping on this in every thread you post in. We're not saying our opinions are fact, for the millionth time. We're just stating our opinions, and then some of us are explaining our reasoning behind it. There's nothing wrong with that, and it gets pretty annoying when you always follow a "I agree with the majority for these reasons" post by telling us we're just being ignorant sheep and trying to get posters to conform to popular opinion. You especially like to attack panurge for his posts, simply because he has a tendency to back up all of his opinions with a large number of explanations and examples. It's just getting downright silly. Nobody here is trying to get anyone else to think like they do. Nobody here is trying to pass off their opinions as undeniable facts. And I'm almost willing to wager a guess that very few people here feel the way they do just because they've been brainwashed by the Sucks populace.

Er, yes, point of view is the single biggest determinant, obviously. That's why someone can like Thailand because it was so dull and predictable and someone can hate Thailand because it was so dull and predictable. But that doesn't mean someone coming in here and saying it's dull and predictable (and therefore they don't like it) is any worse than someone who comes in here and says it's dull and predictable (and therefore they like it).

I take a Theory of Knowledge class (it's part of the International Baccalaureate program I'm in), and 75% of it boils down to debates on ontology and epistemology. Said subjects, however, are not the least bit applicable in a practical debate. Don't try to make an existential argument in an attempt to rebute our opinions. They're perfectly valid and explaining why we feel the way we do is the purpose of a forum like this. For the last time, nobody's trying to force their opinions on anyone else. We're simply stating them because people like to hear themselves talk.

While panurge has a tendency to back up his posts with an abundance of examples and reasoning, you have a tendency to overreact to those posts. You made a statement about the general opinion of Thailand, and panurge was explaining to you why that statement really wasn't very valid at all (and sure, maybe it only applies to him, but I found myself agreeing with what he said, so I think it's safe to say his points apply to a great majority of us).

I think the Marquesas love probably stems from the whole product rather than the F9 power shift. I mean, the season really did have some great moments and great characters. For a first boot, Peter was fantastic, and just about everyone from Patricia to Neleh was interesting as well. And stuff like Paschal's departure, Kathy's storyline, and Marianio's power plays made for good TV.

Darrah's invisibility was what defined her character, oddly enough. She was one of the few UTR characters to actually be a character. She was an anomoly in UTR editing.
As for Tijuana, she wasn't all that low-key, she just got a lot of editing from both sides of the fence, and so she ended up coming off as a bland character because the editors never really went either way with her (I believe it was because she ended up playing such a positive/negative part in so many different storyline, and the editors just didn't know what to do with her besides show both sides). And that was also the case for most of the Thailand cast. Many of them had somewhat dynamic edits, but because the editors never really went anywhere with them, they all came up short.

Except Tanya, Jed, Stephanie, and Erin weren't entertaining. And I still feel John, Ghandia, and Shii Ann weren't entertaining characters either, but rather circumstantial parts of the plotline.

Well, of course. We're criticizing it for being the bottom tier, not for being bad TV. I've liked all of the Survivor seasons as well, for their own reasons. I just never enjoyed Thailand as much as the others.
