I can say that I liked Australian Survivor because nearly every cast member left an impression, there was some great gameplay and a beautiful location. A few weak production values in the first episode (mostly all relating to an ineffective challenge due to the elements) made everyone from Oz hate it before it really got started. The show has so much. The first player to rap themselves out of a challenge. The only 19 year old contestant (and probably the most attractive ever). A crazy last minute plea/power shift that later led to the first ever quitter at the final immunity challenge. And of course, a meltdown unlike anything ever seen.

^^ Yeh, Survivor Oz's major issue was the lame first episode, between the original challenge and the voting that night, it was a bad way to start the season.
BUT...outside of that I thought it was great, even though they were clearly working on a very small budget (having to alternate days between fishing and water). Some thought the fact that one tribe was basically sleeping on dirt, and always dirty brought down the show. The mental breakdown really made the season though, it was sweet sweet justice seeing who it happened to considering that person was soooo sure they were F2 bound. |

I wish they would release this on DVD. I have never watched it, but would like too. I like the theme song better than the US theme.

Oh man, here's some more great reasons to love Australian Survivor...
1) One tribe votes out a professional wood cutter. The next immunity challenge involved wood chopping. 2) The person that won the car reward had never driven in their entire life. At the reunion show, they admitted they had already sold it because they were such a shitty driver. 3) Amazing power shift that occurs at F6, 3-3 with one wise player utilizing someone's past votes to gain the advantage. 4) A very, very physically dominating player that becomes so inspirational to one member of the opposing tribe that she secretly gives him extra rations behind everyone's back. |

I liked Richard and Andy. Charlotte was a very deserving winner. Then, next season, I liked Dave and Jonny. Dave was a really good person to win. However, season 2 was dreadfully boring, and after that crapfest, Survivor UK got cancelled. Good riddance!

John had the million pounds in his pocket...then he has to be distracted by a silly ant in the middle of the last immunity challenge, making him jump ahead ten minutes in his prediction. Sadder, he ended up being at fifty minutes instead of sixty, deadly accurate time that would have sealed him the necklace for sure.
The other guy in the final three (Johnny) was nice though, but slightly less of a player. I was more annoyed by the fact that we'd have an obvious victor over the socially clueless teacher (Susannah) rather than the two guys duking it out. |

I just got both UK seasons and the Australia season in the mail.
I had already seen the first uk season so I started with number 2 and I actually am quite enjoying it. I don't find it boring at all. I love Susannah and Dave. I even like him more than I did Mick I think. He's the Rodger to Mick's Rudy type persona. I'm looking forward to starting Australia afterwards since i have heard so many good things about it. |

Survivor UK is up on youtube.
The immunity challenge 7 was crazy. I can't believe it lasted so far. |

I bought the first Survivor UK on DVD from ioffer.com. I'd say that it hasn't aged well and plays out a lot better on paper. It's too much of a
knockoff of Survivor Borneo using the same location and many of the same challenges. The mastermind of the season is even a contestant named Richard and the
host parrots Probst's "The tribe has spoken" spiel with far less enthusiasm. It also kind of sucked that Richard was voted out at Final 3 for
not winning a Fallen Comrades challenge. The winner, Charlotte, although somewhat of a surprise, didn't really do all that much to deserve the win except
for winning the Fallen Comrades challenge. With the exception of sore loser Eve, the contestants are all well mannered and courteous. Even Eve is fairly mild
compared to same of the characters that we have seen in 16 seasons of US Survivor.

Would anybody happen to have a torrent of the Australian Survivor or the UK ones that they could hook me up with?

I thought Zoe & Jackie were pretty good in terms of strategy.
I think, it kind of sucked that Jackie got shut out 7-0. She had a very very good opening jury speech. I'm surprised that no one tried to use that kind of jury speech. I love how Eve thinks Jackie was an awful player. Jackie outplayed Eve twice. She blindsided Eve's alliance mate Sarah...and then Zoe. Zoe did a good job in episode 4 when she pretended that she was concending defeat. |

I'm just finishing the fourth episode of the first UK season. I remember the winner from reading it somewhere, but it seems pretty good so far. The
challenges are definitely low-rent and the editing is a bit awkward (I miss the swelling music from our version that lets you know when someone wins a
challenge

Why do you think Survivor failed in the UK??? Because of Big Brother?

I just started watching UK S1 and am on the second episode. I'm calling NO FAIR! Why on earth were they given canned fruit and meat? Why oh why were they
allowed to drink water when they were eating butok?
Seems to cheapen it somehow. |
