I'm of course loving Day 34. I'm wondering just how long it will take John to realize he messed up and now has no chance of winning the game. Because there's nothing the guy can now do to save his win. I love the fact that just because these players are all All-Stars doesn't mean they've all got situational awareness. The biggest thing I've come away with from Survivor is that most players who lose do so because of their own myopia. They lack the situational awareness necessary to fully understand just where they stand in their tribe and in the game. Alicia didn't have it. She really had no clue she couldn't beat Colleen. And John didn't have it. He thinks he's a Survivor mastermind, but he loses his strategic compass when he gets angry. CL was dead on. John's smart play was to get Alicia to angle for Tina to go home. And failing that, he should have directed the vote to Vee. There was no reason to act right there and then. He and Alicia could have easily taken over the game at Final 5. All he had to do was have Alicia go back to Gretchen and argue that breaking up Tina and Vee was more important than getting rid of John, and if Gretchen wanted her to go with the program they had to get rid of one of them. John acts like he has no idea what's coming, and at TC we get a 3-3 tie, and at the revote John breaks ranks and votes out whoever the target was. The remaining winner would be initially pissed, but would understand that John was unwilling to take a rock. Then John, Alicia, and the remaining winner band together and vote out Gretchen, or if she won immunity, Colleen. At that point they're sitting pretty in the Final 4 and can almost coast into the final TC together. Now however, John's all kinds of fucked. No matter what happens now, he's overtly fucking someone over. He has no cover to hide behind.
