When I originally sat down to redo Hawaii, I figured I'd rewrite the first four episodes, they'd look much prettier, and then I could pretty much leave the rest of the story the way that it was.
Well fat chance I can do that now.
I've added so many more subplots and storylines, and added so many new directions the story could go, that it would be irresponsible to just leave episodes 5-13 the way they are now. Now it looks like I just have to redo the whole story, so that everything I've added in episodes 1 and 2 can have a proper payoff (or prove to be a red herring).
And yes, there is a little more foreshadowing now that I kind of know what might happen down the road. I've never written a story before where I knew what would happen in future episode. So it's actually been a bit of a new experience for me, as well as a different kind of a challenge.
And yes, the first two evictees got a LOT more character development this time around. Aside from getting rid of the stupid machete argument, that was my #1 goal when I went back to redo the beginning.
