I haven't heard Clay on the radio in a long, long time...
and when I do, it's only "Oh Holy Night" at Christmas time. I hear Kelly on the radio often, and K Lo every once in a while. |

That's because mainstream entertainment doesn't like Clay and never did. And also because the crazy Claymates called in to request "Invisible" so many times when it first came out, DJ's didn't play it on purpose to piss them off. Ah, I love DJ's.

Even with the mates each attending 10, half of his shows are not selling well. Bye-bye Clay. In Ruben news - Neighborhoods like South Street and Old City filled up with slightly more people than usual, while a crowd of almost 20,000 gathered at Penn's Landing for a concert by Stephanie Mills and American Idol king Ruben Studdard. |

Perhaps the mates can stage a Live 8 type concert to raise "awareness" of Clay's plight. He's in desparate need of some legitimate fame and his cover on TV guide just ain't gonna cut it.
Rolling Stone was when he first came off the show and all other major appearances were within the first year of coming off the show. What has Clay been on since? Kimmel?? I'm convinced Clay blew Jimmy for all the love and adoration that he heaps on him these days. It's a shame really, Clay had the potential to be an amazing AC artist, he's got the voice for it, but the mates NEEDED him to be a pop star and with his elfish pasty white (read fugly) looks and eunich persona that wasn't happening but they pushed it to the brink and now pop wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole, although I'm sure he'd like it if they would touch him with their pole. The fact that Clay constantly has to manipulate his fans into buying one more CD, one more copy of his book, etc illustrates that he is insecure in his fame and knows that it's fading fast and he can't stand it. |

His persona is fake, he uses charities to raise his own profile while doing absolutely nothing of import himself, he is a talker, not a walker. In addition he is very unattractive to look at with his odd features, strange hair, funky eyebrows, and pasty white skin. He is too effeminate, probably gay, but certainly androgynous with less than zero sex appeal. He has nothing to sell but an OK voice. His career is sinking as it should, he doesn't have enough of "it" to attract new fans or fans who aren't disenfranchised in one way or the other, imo. |
