So Aras was only able to win the game due to failing to appeal to Sally, who picked Austin before Courtney picked Aras. You could argue that Austin finished ninth instead of first because he made the mistake of appealing to Sally.

Actually, the thought that some players pik the best allies through shrewed observation alone is the one that is ridiculous. And it was a rather small point I was making, you were suggesting that he had absolutly no solid stratagy at all and I am suggesting otherwise

He went to Aras and proposed throwing the challenge, since it would give them a chance to exchange one of their weaker members for Bruce. Aras seemed to understand the logic but opposed the idea anyway, despite the fact that Casaya had nothing to gain from winning the challenge. Luckily for them, they lost anyway, but it just adds to the evidence that Aras was a bad strategist.

Personally, I don't like it when ANYONE brings out the "integrity" card, because I view Survivor, Big Brother,etc as completly cut off from reality. That being said, I think the very fact that the guy won is evidence enough of his skills. Luck because of the HII plyed a part, but luck is a part of the game. He earned his win, AND he probably would of beat Cirie head to head

Because there's not much else I can think of to say on his behalf either. I thought he was among the luckiest and most random of all the winners. But if you think winning alone indicates greatness, why don't I see you blowing and reaming all the other winners?

By definition, a good players standing is contingent on how close they got to winning the game(Unless you have a different definition, and trust me, it is going to be hard to think one up). Aras won, and therefore he is a better then the majority of players throughout the seasons, and that goes for other winners as well. As for him being lucky, perhaps, but I think I've debunked it based on speculation. I give players benifit of the doubt unless fact proves otherwise, and I think based on educated speculation that he would beat Cirie in the final 2. Even you admitted that he probably didn't want to lose, it was either just speculation or him trying to be humble. By the way, suppose he did vote out Cirie at f4 like he was "supposed to". Cirie, despite her exellent gameplay, seems to me like another bitterwaffle.

Which I still reject. I think you Aras groupies are confusing educated speculation with wishful thinking. I think there's enough evidence to at least suggest that Sally, Bruce, and Danielle would have voted for Cirie, which means Aras would have needed all of the remaining four votes, including Shane, who voted for someone he clearly didn't respect over Aras, and said he would rather have cut his head off than have to vote for either one of them. Unless you can corroborate that Shane has said he would have voted for Aras over Cirie, you're not changing my mind. A presumed margin of victory of one vote for Aras is too close to call, in my opinion. Juries are just not that predictable, so you should face up to your own limitations and admit that it could have gone either way. Even you admitted that he probably didn't want to lose, Who the fuck does? Cirie, despite her exellent gameplay, seems to me like another bitterwaffle. Courtney also wouldn't have voted for Cirie because of some edited out feuds that were edited out. Aras planned for Cirie to "betray" Shane at least once, by throwing the f7, and I believe twice, because I remember Cirie saying on the Insider or somewhere that she wouldn't mind booting Danielle at f5. He still would of won, but whos to say Cirie wouldn't poison the jury? Everything hinges on Shanes vote, who has a bizarre code of blood loyalty in the game

People have speculated that he threw it because his answer to "who would be unable to survive on their own" was Terry. But Cirie would have won the challenge whether he had answered that question correctly or not, since she had two ropes left and he only had one. The correct answer was obviously Cirie, and Aras knew Cirie would get it right, so his answer could have been a "fuck you" to Terry, since he knew he was losing the challenge anyway. At least, that's my opinion. Prove me wrong if you can.

I am willing to meet you halfway and say "I don't know", but I do think it would turn out in Aras' favor. The fact that he could beat Cirie is what my very argument hinges on, because I agree with you that he comes off as kind of a goof. However, I think a lot of the bias against him comes from the fact that hes younger and not a fan of the show(look at how muh slack is given to Survivor fan Eliza), and I'm trying to demonstrate where he deserves credit. I'll find the link tommorrow.

We don't have confirmation, but we do have a good idea of who wouldvote for who Austin: Aras probably. Cirie might defend her gameplay masterfully, we don't know, but signs point to Aras. Sally:Cirie-she said so herself Bruce:Cirie-Based on his dislike of Aras Courtney:Aras-She is like a female Shane and was betrayed by Cirie. Danielle:Cirie-Probably Terry:Aras-His reputation leans heavily in affirmation of strong males, hell,males over females anyway. But thats not what the initial argument was about, it was about whether he was a lucky winner or not. Cirie is certainly appearing more and more to have chinks in her gameplay, which Aras exploitated. I base this off a confessional he made prior to Shanes boot. Also, I believe he threw at least the first ic, which leads one to believe he threw a couple more, like the f7 reward challenge.

Just because they were alpha-men doesn't mean they would automatically vote for Aras. I think Terry, being a family man would vote for Cirie, the mother, over Aras. And I also don't think Austin would be able to justify giving the money to Aras over her either. Aras WOULD lose. I'm 1000% sure.

That was a petty, childish, totally unnecessary blunder for Aras, where he had Terry threatening to have nothing more to do with him if he didn't apologize. Terry may have voted for him over Danielle just because he felt betrayed when Danielle took Aras over him when he was the one who kept her in the game at F4. Cirie never had a deal with him that I know of. Also, as a family man, he would felt an emotional inclination to reward someone who was there to provide for their kids, like he was. But thats not what the initial argument was about, it was about whether he was a lucky winner or not. The burden of proof is on you to explain why he wasn't. I'm still waiting.
