I hate that term "Diva". None of these loads has earned the right for that term yet. Kinda lost it's worth anymore. Diva behavior...Miss Ross, Bette, Barbra, Aretha, Luther, Elton, Xtina..they've earned it.
Now it seems to equate a big, black woman singer of decent enough vocal ability. That's all. |

Look - lets get this straight right now. Why do some of you persist in finding ways to use racist terms without using obvious terminology? Nobody is so dumb as to not recognize that you are using terms like "Diva" in place of the "N word"; or making bad remarks about everyone in a certain group, even if it doesn't apply or applies to others as well. Why not just curb you ignorant, juvenile attitudes and stop trying so hard to hide what you are behind apparent phraseology - as if you could actually fool someone...please! It still reads the same - and it's not going to deter someone like me from calling you a racist, throwback, biggot.

Exactly what I thought as well. All the White ones will be gone right away, because they just aren't very good, and seeing them and then seeing and hearing those amazing Black women singers, no reason to have to be hearing them every week when the real competition is between all those incredible singers.

Not being racist, but it's amazing that people are already calling the game off after one inning on account of a few clouds... (sorry, I know, that was bad... but it DOES go with the theme here.)
While I agree that it's lopsided this year, Gina and Nicole have every bit the chance as far as vocal talent goes. (Guess that depends on who goes home tonight...) Anyway... a lot of batters step to the plate and hit one out of the park their first time at bat, only to go 0 for their next 10 at bats... I'm not ready to give anyone the trophy yet. Never mind that all of "those amazing Black women singers" will pose as complete marketing nightmares for Simon, Clive, and whoever else involved in the process. Somehow I doubt TPTB are going to allow things to get as predictable as CSI, where you have the case solved in the first 15 minutes. This isn't just a talent competition.... I know, hard to believe... I have to constantly be reminded myself. Disclaimer- Let's enjoy the singers for who they are and the talent they have, racism really has no place here or anywhere for that matter. |
