For debate's sake~
The bottom line in all of this mess is Survivor for casting a moronic person like Dreamz to begin with.. even more so to me for the fact that he represented the so-called "homeless population" to some of America than the now never to be forgotten truck incident!
Not all homeless people are borderline retarded, lacking in social skills, verbally illiterate and incapable of long-range thought.
I truly believe that Dreamz has no ability (even now) to think quickly through a situation and see all the possible ramifications down the line.
When the car was dangled in front of him..it was like offering candy to a four year old with severe cavaties. Without the inate ability to be logical and incapable of abstract thinking..the child just eats it.
He can or does not stop to consider that his teeth may be hurting if he eats it a week later and/or that he may end up with a whole lot of pain afterwards. He just sees the candy and wants it NOW.
However..when the child is in agony and is told he needs root canals or even extractions due to eating the candy ~ he suffers the consequences of choosing poorly. The child can try to change his story and say he did not eat the candy or never intended to make his cavaties worse. However, the decision was made and now the child must deal with the consequences of his actions. Dreamz is paying for it in the form of pure hatred and no one seems to be pointing a finger at the casting department or anyone involved on Survivor's part.
Is it the child's fault that a person who knew the child could not resist candy offered it to him or the child's fault for eating it without thinking of the possible ramifications?
One could argue back and forth on that one.
The old adage "know thyself" come to mind.
Dreamz HAS to know he is slow. I am sure by the time this incident occured..the entire crew, cast AND viewers knew! Surely the casting department KNEW!
What he should have done was ask Jeff if could think about it and get back to Y-Man about it before the next tribal council. Or Jeff should have suggested a certain time period be allowed before Dreamz could accept or not accept the offer. Then Dreamz could have taken the time to consider all of the ramifications pro or con and/or asked someone like Casssandra to help him with the decision.
There is only so much one can ask of a slow dim-witted adult. Survivor put him in a situation he was not up to snuff for.
I mainly blame Survivor for allowing this whole entire mess to even occur.
In this situation, Survivor represents parents who know thier child has rotten teeth and never tells their child to not eat candy, why candy will make them worse, or worse..gives the child candy anyway.
Contrast those type of parents to the one's who tell their child straight out he can never eat candy, why he should not, and monitors very closely how they make their choices. If they know thier child is incapable of making the correct choices..then they do not allow (whenever possible) ANYONE to offer the child candy in the first place!
Dreamz should have NEVER been cast. Period.
I still dislike him..but I am more upset with Survivor for a multitude of reasons for even allowing him to be cast on the show.
Really~what is their culpability in all of this?
Just asking.
Anyone like to debate? ;)
