She's a little odd looking but I thought she was fantastic. I so hope they can do something with her appearance.

Her voice was fantastic, she's endearing, but that no-neck with a long chin freaks me out. And that can't be fixed by a 'makeover.'

If she does kick the confidence hurdle she is going to the end or pretty damn close. In fact at this point I don't see many beating her on the grounds of her voice alone, but there is always the popularity votes taht may or may not beat her. If she can play that shy girl and belt out a voice, it's hers to lose..

She's the next Vonzell/Elliott. Good voice, but lacks confidence and charisma so she won't win. And if she's like either of them, she will probably make it only to the F3.

She looks like that chick from MAD TV.
Her lack of arrogance is refreshing, but I can't see too many people rushing out to buy a Melinda Doolittle album. I think Simon is right. It takes more than a great voice to transition from a background singer to a lead soloist. You need to have star quality (and a massive ego). I hope she goes far, though. |

All right, Melinda's not obese and I guess Mandisa Hundley ain't either (though she could have stood to lose more than a few pounds). I was so busy ranting about Mandisa Hundley that I forgot that Melinda is a lot skinnier, but more womanly that the other stick-figures who Simon gets moist over. But I just hope that she doesn't turn into a skinny Mandisa Hundley either.

If she doesn't psyche herself out I can see her winning. Her audition was just...that good. She's likable, amazing voice and she's got a slight advantage in having experience performing in front of large groups of people.

Of course, a very, very good voice.
Not beautiful, but far from ugly. I think she's charismatic. Her face lights up when she smiles, and she's quite likeable. Definite charisma, despite not being particularly pretty or sexy. |
