Goddamn, the girl can sang! So watch her hefty ass get dumped before the semifinals for some short blonde with giant fake tits who sings like Carmen on Prozac.

She reminds me of Mr. Mole but she's damn good.

Great singer. I don't see how any makeover will help tho.

She probably is one of the better girl singers but she's another Velasco in waiting.

She's the next American Idol. She fits the new theme for the season, our own Dreamgirl. Remember Diana Ross is a guest judge this seaon. Its going to be about somebody plucked from the chorus line. No hick from the sticks, no frumpy bluesman from the streets.

She's in the same boat as Sundance, except in his case it's his looks. In her case it's a lack of charisma and personality.
Great voice, but she's not the winner. |

My favorite so far. Big transformation, Dreamgirls-esque story? She even has the backup thing going for her.
I think we have a winner. |

Hopefully not too much like Dreamgirls, considering the snubbing it received from the Academy.
If this competition was based on voice alone, it would be a Sundance-Melinda final 2, but it's not. The public votes, and looks/charisma do matter, unfortunately. |

So Mandisa and Melinda know each other? Interesting.

I only wish that she doesn't turn into Mandisa Hundley 2: Electric Bugaloo. One obese, over-screaming, homophobic holy roller is enough, thank you very much.

I thought she was really good. I agree with the judges though. Particularly Simon, on her lack of confidence. She has the voice without a doubt. She just doesn't have the "X Factor" as they'd say. Shame too, because she could be a real dynamo!

Love her!! and the lack of confidence could get her at least final 3 (Elliott)

I have my doubts about her shyness/no confidence schtick. But everybody needs a back story. Two weeks in Hollywood and she'll be rolling around the stage barefoot singing Shummertime.

Quote: That'd be pretty smart of her if this no confidence thing was just a big bag of bullshit to demonstrate growth. Not very nice of her though and something Pickler would do. |

Quote: I'll give you the other comparisons to Mandisa but if you thought she was obese you're fucking blind. She could probably stand to lose 15-20 pounds but obese is pushing it, a lot. |
