I've got to study on my OWN picks, and get them posted... and, after intense study, do no better than anyone else, as usual. *L* I tried to get 'Nilla to come play this silly game, but she's bein' a snit. I've played in one college FB game or another online with her for the past few years, and she's damn good at them. She makes some 'insane' picks at times that, somehow, HIT on the money!!! Just ridiculous picks, they seem, but they work!!

Jimmy Clausen, heralded Notre Dame frosh, turns 20 on September 21st. He's pretty old for a true freshman. No wonder he's so developed.
In less than 56 weeks, he'll be able to transport liquor legally. |

Clausen was great in High School - was on the CA State Championship team for the division. I think that the Cali teams are overrated for the most part, though. Bellevue High in WA knocked two of them off their perch in the past few years!! Unfortunately, the nat'l media still fawns over the CA teams. Hmmmmmph! My guesses, with winners: WEEK 1 Thursday, Aug. 30 Utah @ Oregon State 10:00 pm - Really 'iffy' on this'n; Utes play very well vs. Pac-10. Friday, Aug. 31 Washington @ Syracuse 8:00 pm - Woof!!! Saturday, Sep. 1 Colorado State @ Colorado 12:00 pm - Toss-up, as usual. Bitter rivalry! Georgia Tech @ Notre Dame 3:30 pm - Bees couldn't do it last year, w/ Calvin Johnson @ home. Wake Forest @ Boston College 3:30 pm - Which'll continue last year's dream season? Arizona @ Brigham Young 5:30 pm - Toss-up; going with home advantage & stingy BYU defense. Hey I was just thinking about you this morning. ESPN Classic had on Florida St.-Florida in the Sugar Bowl after the '96 season, and they kept showing Chesty Amato strutting around the FSU sideline, tan as ever in January. |
