we got our new kitten today! we adopted him from one of the ladies at our vets' who fosters the strays that are brought there...he's a beautiful black short-hair, very long and lithe and full of personality. he's a little older than i was hoping to get, at 5 months old, but it's really worked out better, since he's old enough to stand up to our 10 and 18-yr old cats. there's been an awful lot of hissing and weird, very soft growling going on from all parties all afternoon, but the transition is going better than expected. he's presently sort of asleep on the black fuzzy thing we gave him as one of his bedding choices...once i figure out how to upload pictures from my camera, i'll do a 'spot the cat' sort of picture - he just disappears on it!
