baking soda in regular litter helps a bit, too...it neutralizes the acid in the pee or something.

tres, feline pine litter works really well...have you tried that? it smells nice and natural, not that heavy perfumey smell most litters have.

That's such a beautiful picture of her SA. The sun hits her just right.
Graper? I'm sorry about your dogger, but you do know you were doing the right thing by leaving him there don't you? You're a good pet owner even if it sometimes hurts. |

Tres, have you tried buying a few gallons of nature's miracle and thoroughly dousing the room? It'll smell worse for a couple of days then get better.
However, if the room has dardwood floors, it's likely that the urine leaked through onto the subfloor - we had this problem and had to pour some of NM, let
it seep through and repeat several times until it finally killed the smell

I no longer trust myself when it comes to the kitty litter room. I always have independent sniffers do a walk through. Sad, but true you get used to it.

That is the ONE nice thing my dad ever said to me as an adult. He mentioned that my house was very clean and that he was amazed that he couldn't smell the
cat boxes. If he were to walk in to this house he would immediately mention the cat boxes. A very nice lurker wrote to me and told me that PetsMart makes a
version of Nature's Miracle that is cheaper.
The thing is that they aren't pissing outside of the box. It is the boxes themselves that are so nasty. |

beach and sunlight for a day or get new ones and use plastic liners that you can toss when they're used

Sorry, I didn't describe it the way I meant to. The boxes smell fine when they are empty, they smell rancid and make the air smell horrible as soon as a
cat so much as looks at them. When we moved I packed all our stuff in plastic totes so we have dozens of those. We use them as cat boxes (I cut an entry hold
in the side so that they don't have to jump into the box, that way we can have a lid on them, too).
I know this sounds weird, but this is completely unnerving me. It smells ok in there right now, but come morning it's going to be a different story. I found some coupons for the clumping stuff so I'm going to get some tomorrow. |

I think we use the big tubs of tidy cat scoop - multiple cat and it seems to work pretty good

yeah, I also would recommend a better quality litter. I don't always buy it but find it makes a difference. also, put some baking soda at the bottom of the
box afetr each change.

Tristan's chewing EVERYTHING!!! Especially chords. I picked up some Bitter Apple spray yesterday and when he started biting Mr. Pie's finger, I sprayed
it on the finger and he had a taste, backed off slowly, not sure of it. I'll have to see if it works properly on items.

Stewie used to love Bitter Apple and would lick it off everything

I was afraid of that. I thought he'd have a taste of it and run from the room howling. He's still undecided. |

I picked up a Pug book and it said to wait til he's got all his shots before exposing him to a bunch of dogs.
He's got one more on Halloween and then obedience school starts. THAT'LL LEARN HIM! |
