This is Elvis. My parents got him from a dachshund rescue last year. He's a "tweenie" meaning he's only like... 15 pounds. 
This is Shade, my 9 year old Yorkie Poo. She's about 15 pounds, too.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. ::puppy kisses:: Funny story: I was in the patio on Sunday and Tristan was trying to get up the ledge from the family room. I was calling him, encouraging him to jump up when I saw it. IT. I called "Mr. Pie! OMG. Mr. Pie!!!!!!!!" panicking. Mr. Pie came running to see what the commotion was all about. He saw. "Red Rocket! Red Rocket!!!" he laughed. I am traumatised. MY BABY'S TOO YOUNG!!! :cry |

My dog is still "intact". As a guy, I just cannot see lopping off the boys. I wouldn't want a higher life form deciding that for me.
Someone told me "Oh, it prevents them from having testicular cancer." I told her "Well why don't we lop off his legs so he doesn't get leg cancer!" grrrr |

All ours are spayed/neutered. Like Gina said, there are too many others in the world unless you're breeding. But, no, they won't automatically get fat. And, Pie, it will not necessarily stop the appearance of It. My 4 1/2 year old male Boxer is neutered and still, on occasion, displays himself. |
