They may keep it on the air for a while, because let's face it...what are they going to replace it with?
Then again, they may not. I really don't know what they're going to do with this show.

it's a guilty pleasure right now. I never got into The OC or that other show....so I know that I might get bored with this shortly.
Does anyone know who plays B? |

B is played by Leighton Meester, I think.

The second episode was so much better than the pilot. Less crammed and the characters that felt weak last week developed more backbone. Even Serena was a
little bitchy in parts.
I also love the music director on this show - she used to do the music for the OC and also does it for Grey's. She always manages to help me build my music collection. |

I hope this show starts to head in a different direction. As it stands right now, none of the characters are very relatable, even the "poor kids."
I wish we were following an outsider's slow ascension through the popular ranks of some elite school on the Upper Eastside, ala Mean Girls, than just the
feud to nowhere that we're currently watching. I think I'd be more invested if there was a character that was more neutral, at least at first. The
kid sister, though occasionally wise beyond her years, seems too stupid and superficial most of the time to warrant this role. The Serena and Blair rivalry
has to be the most toothless feud ever. Blair would seem to have to upper-hand in every battle because she's still the queen bee no matter what. I'd
like to see her taken down a peg or two or then the feud doesn't mean anything. She obviously has her boyfriend due to guilt and he's not going
anywhere because Serena has no intention of taking him from Blair. So really there is nothing these two have to fight over other than turf. And considering
that neither one can truly pull off a social hit on the other there's essentially no drama. School hasn't been nearly as important as it should be.
None of the kids look to be heading into poverty so there are no stakes. No stakes equal no drama. If the truth hadn't have come out so early maybe
there'd be hope for the feud, but since everything has been laid out on the table there's been no traction. The second episode was just a little more
of the same from the pilot, except instead of the "Kiss on the Lips" party there was a brunch.
I'll watch for another two weeks and then I'm done. |

Man. Ima just piss all over this stupid show. None of the characters like each other. That guy character that doesn't want to go to dartmouth has no personality whatsoever. At least the date rapist has some good quips. |

Are you kidding me!? The show is horrid in every way possible, and even with the best possible lead-in on the network and best timeslot possible, it has gotten
horrible ratings. So, what does the CW do in return? Give it 22 episodes!? What the fuck. Bring back VM. The article sounds like shameful promotion, too.
http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Ausiello-Report/Breaking-Fullseason-Pickup/800024112 "Breaking: First Full-Season Pickup Goes to... Blake Lively, Ed Westwick, Leighton Meester, and Chace Crawford by KC Bailey/The CW ... CW's guilty and pleasurable Gossip Girl! A network spokesperson confirms that the increasingly addictive Josh Schwartz confection has been greenlit for a full, 22-episode season. Although its ratings have been only so-so, GG has seen substantial gains once DVR usage is factored in. And buoyed by strong word-of-mouth, the show's two most recent episodes rank among the top 5 downloaded shows on iTunes. Oh, look - a quote from CW head Dawn Ostroff! "People everywhere are talking about Gossip Girl and we believe this show will continue to build audience as it builds buzz. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have created an incredibly heightened-reality world that viewers are locking into while advertisers, affiliates and press have also embraced the show. The series has earned its early pick-up and we look forward to a long run on The CW." Are you as enthused about GG's pickup as Ostroff? Well, see that pretty white box down there? Use it!" The CW is desperate. All of their new shows are tanking, and they have nothing they can replace them with.
They basically have to stick with what they've got for the rest of this season. |

Are you kidding me? This timeslot is death. It's competing with Private Practice which has the Grey's/18-49 audience, Bionic Woman which has the action
audience (despite it being godawful).
I fucking loved Popular when it was on, and this show reminds me of it so much. It's much better than the OC (no Marissa Cooper). |

well, I'm still watching...I think Dan is hot so that keeps me interested..I don't watch PP or Bionic so..

VM owns Gossip Girls.
Fuck the CW to hell and back for giving this 22 episodes with shit ratings and not giving VM anything with better ratings. |

The guy who plays Dan is hot but the character of Dan is annoying. He's too self-righteous and acts holier-than-thou because he's poor (but not really)
and that means he has morals BLAH BLAH BLAH. I hate every self absorbed character on this show except the rapist (because at least he owns up to it) and
Serena's younger brother. I can't even stand Kristen Bell's voice anymore.
I think I'm done. |
