They BOTH pander to their audiences (oh and whomever singled out that Phil only panders to women....get a grip. That fucker hooks many a man in his "you should cry too brutha" escapades) and the stars. Oh most definitely the stars. (For those who don't think so please refer to the nightmare ep of Tom Cruise on Oprah). It is a sad state of affairs when Oprah is a mere step up from Tyra Banks and the unerringly stringent fact that Phil will NEVER EVER BE Phil Donahue (RIP). Shite. Done with the ranting, but they both make my skin crawl.

It's the demographic that he caters to which is by and large women. So I stand by my word. As far as celebritites are concerned, you are absolutely correct, he does pander to them as well. It seems every celebrity he mentions he has only good things to say, almost to the point where his lips are betwen the cheeks. I know he doesn't want to raise the ire of many of them, but I seriously doubt many of them are his friends, or a good neighbour to him.

I think Males have a little more in common with Dr. Phil men like his confrontational and tough love approach I think, that is what initially drew me into the character of Dr. Phil anyway.

By "confrontational and tough love approach", you mean his "I'm the ultimate standard to follow and you're a pice of shit" approach? I'm all for shrinks being upfront and waking people up, that's how you get result, but Dr. Douchebag's humiliation of guests with subsequent gloating about how perfect his life is, is where I draw the line. I don't see how that helps his guest.

She also hates the fact that he threw a babyish hissy fit when he couldn't get Maria Shriver to introduce him to her husband the Governator (whatever). At the end of the article it stated that she's in control of the scheduling for shows she produces (his being one of them), and that she could even pull his show off the air. I've also heard that his show has been pulled off the air already. Is that true? Or are they going to air the remaining new episodes and then take him off the air?

No matter happens, he always bring up an example of either himself, his wife or his kids, which usually implies that he was the perfect father who created this perfect family. Most of his points are good, but they're masked by his superiority and condescension.

His main strategy is to humiliate the guest and then get validation from his audience, THEN he takes 5 seconds to tell his guests "I will offer help if you want to, blah, blah, blah...."

I woke up from a nap and it was coming on. This guy sleeping with that older couple, the lie detector test, the FBI expert asking him which artery/vein? was involved killed Not far behind is his losing the keys to the mansion and sleeping in a rest area I'm glad the wife passed hers. The pissant should not be allowed to see his girls unsupervised, and the people he lives with should demand to go to his attorney with him to verify everything that's been said to them. My GOD! I love that his mother told the truth about the father not being dead. I bet he's all cuddled up between the couple tonight after it's airing. They should've shown an update at the end.
