NEW YORK -- Viewers flocked to old favorites CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Desperate Housewives and tried out new fare My Name Is Earl and Everybody Hates Chris in the first week of the new season.
The season began like the old one left off: ABC is hot, NBC is not and CBS remains the nation's most popular network. For the week, CBS averaged 12.9 million viewers. UPN's Everybody Hates Chris beat NBC's Joey head-to-head with 7.8 million viewers, numbers almost unheard of for UPN. NBC's My Name is Earl was the most popular sitcom of the week. I started this thread and only got to watch the three shows earlier today. For shame.
Jason Lee is great in it. Jaime Pressly is perfect casting, as are Ethan Suplee and Eddie Steeples. Nadine Velazquez is as hot as a Mustang's exhaust. I love this show. |

Great news - NBC has picked up the full 22-episode season.
I really love this show. The last time I enjoyed a sitcom this much was Seinfeld. |

I like the continuity, that Kenny came back--and he's a man-ho! I hope Earl takes the maid's suggestion and puts his money in the bank. An episode built around him trying to work with a bank and not rob it could be really good.

I love Jamie as white trash. She was great when she tried to get a loan from the bank.
I have loved her ever since she played pure white trash in that David Spade movie, Joe Dirt. |

It's Saturday night, I watched LOST rerun & was stuck with a free hour so I thought I'd give Earl a try. DAMN! I laughed every 5 seconds! Great cast, creat acting, great writing. This will be a new favorite only I need to see what it's opposite on Tuesday night.
Loved the Moses & the Red Sea, the huge Bible, the ex wife. All of it! I'll be glued to this one for some light humor during the week. BRAVO! |

I also watched all three episodes tonight, and I laughed my ass off throughout all three episodes. And there's also the bonus of seeing Jaime Pressley finally get a steady gig. I've always liked her.

Yeah, Darnell is "The Rubberman" & he "can." He's pure gold.
I loved it when she told ex hubby that he wasn't taking proper care of his babies & 2 half black/white children skip through & he says "They're NOT my kids!" Good lord, living where I do I see women just like her every day. It's tragic but stull funny as hell. The old smoking lady was prime. With all the patches at one point. I'd be doing that myself. I'd prefer they move this to Saturday evening. I'll have to miss AR which in not a biggie right now - hate the screaming. |

I've been wanting to see this show since I first heard about
it, but didn't--until last night. I caught two eps (right after the LOST rerun). omg!! I will now watch EARL instead of Amazing Race(which is boring me this season). The huge Bible was hilarious!! This show deserves an audience, and I am one of those households that counts, if you catch my meaning. :) |
