I watched the last 4 eps on Saturday night. I find the series decent, but not great. There is so much more they could have done. I guess I'm not a big JRM fan, he does nothing for me & I don't find him a convincing young Henry VIII (not that I would know what Henry was really like). I do enjoy watching Henry Cavill & Jeremy Northam. Without these two, I probably wouldn't have kept sort of watching. (Basically, when nothing else was on, I went to the "on Demand" and caught up with missed eps.) Hopefully next season will be better.

It's shocking how much they've changed, and it bugs me that some people are actually going to think that some of the things portrayed actually happened. The true story is good enough, it didn't need artificial enhancement. I mean, how is the Stuart line ever going to be if Margaret is married to Brandon, after murdering Portugal??? Now I'm hooked & want more. It seems that Blockbuster only has this one disc available. Does anyone know when they will release the rest of season 1? I can't download & watch on my PC so don't even suggest that.

Henry's youngest sister "Mary" married the king of France and when she was widowed married Charles Brandon. This transfer of the story to Margaret not only ruins any exploration of the Stuarts, but also will eliminate the Lady Jane Grey story. (She was Mary's granddaugher - Mary and Charles's daughter Frances was her mother). They also had Bessie Blount's and Henry's son die as a toddler when in reality he married. This had me almost throwing a shoe through our TV. But I will tune in to the next season to see how badly they fuck up the Anne Boleyn tragedy.

I've heard Eric Bana's portrayal in The Other Boleyn Girl is anything but good...but I'm still eager to see it. The 101 on Direct TV is showing edited episodes nightly beginning Tuesday (I think).

SO glad it's finally coming back, and with Peter O'Toole no less. The new TV Guide has some great stuff about it, including a great cover shot.
