They call Mcgee Probie. I believe it's short for probationary agent or something like that.

Yes McGee is the "probie" because he is a new and inexperienced agent. I don't know why these friggin TV types can't leave well enough alone. NCIS wasn't broken and didn't need fixing nor a "shake up". Heavy sigh! They will fix this one until it is unwatchable too. The original cast had fantastic chemistry and to mess with that is just plain stupid IMHO.

I love this show next to CSI.I jumped out my chair when Kate was killed, all I good think was I'm going to miss her and Tony's banter back and forth...

Re: ncis | ||

i watched the end again tonight and i can't recall more of a shocking end.
Alias had a decent one this week but NOT like Kate if it's not a dream. I guess if she is spotted on the set next season she is in if not she really wanted out. I wish they had a better time slot as the show is tops in my books. also. the shooter ( i can't remember his name now ) sure did travel fast from planting that stuff animal to get up there to kill Kate ( leading to the dream scenerio ). I guess I need to watch all of it again Next week I see that 2 NCIS's are on back to back. It's not many shows I can watch a second time. |

Agreeance, I love this show too and I will miss the Tony/Kate banter. Sasha Alexander apparently wanted out of the show and this is why DPB killed her off. Sigh! Why do they always have to screw things up, it's not like she will be inundated with offers."rolling eye thingy"

Quote: The thing is, it's not really that big a gamble to leave NCIS right now. Ratings are so-so and there was no guarantee of renewal. I could see her choosing to resign if the fate of the show was up in the air. It's not the same as leaving a topp 10 show or so. |

Re: ncis | ||
Quote: thanks, BrocktonRox! I guess I should have figured that out... my problem with the finale is that I heard beforehand that one of them would die, so I was all distracted trying to figure out who it would be... and when it finally happened, OMG! I actually cried... because it was so horrifying. I didn't even like Kate... |

Re: re: NCIS ratings | ||
Quote: While not a top 10 show, according to the hollywood reporter, for the whole season, NCIS was ranked higher than any of the L&O's, Joey, The West Wing, Alias, 24, Boston Legal, House....... Maybe it doesn't generate the ink of other shows, but I would say it's definitely a sleeper hit with ratings up 15% overall for the season and up 19% in the important 18-49 bracket. www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/television/feature_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000937471 |

It's a quality show, because it has Donald Bellisario's
company behind it. They always do good stuff, and the same crew works on most of his shows, including writers and directors. It makes for a cohesive team, which brings consistency. |

Anyone know who they casted to replace Kate?

Lauren Holly | ||

I read that Lauren Holly was cast as a love interest for Mark Harmon's character and will appear in the first episode of the new season.

I saw that as well. Supposedly, the next season will start with the search for Kate's killer, and Lauren will be part of the investigation.

Lauren Holly will play Harmon's boss & former lover in 6 episodes next season.

Quote: Yeah, this is actually 1 of the few shows that not only has its ratings go up from season to season but also from the important 18-49 bracket. I remember reading a cover story about Sasha leaving a while back stating that she basically presumably couldn't handle the work and excessive long hours required in these kinds of shows (she's starred in other series before, but not 1 that has lasted more than a year...). I'm sure there are articles about it online. |

Wow she is not too bright eh? I can just see the producers beating a path to her door now
I love this show. It is well done, realistic (in that they use ripped from the headlines type storylines, the only deviation being the terrorist one) and the ensemble cast really works well together. I'm not sure I could name a favourite character because I like them all and for different reasons. |

Re: re: NCIS ratings | ||
Quote: Well, to be fair, she herself hasn't ever publicly talked about it. I would assume she said it to Bellisario in confidence, which he later gave out in interviews as a reason for Alexander's departure. Seems he wanted to add in a totally different character from Kate, anyways. |

Re: re: NCIS ratings | ||

A couple weeks ago, I caught the last ten minutes of this shit-fest while waiting for Big Brother to come on. Mark Harmon and his cohorts where trying to capture some bad guy who was hiding out in a mobile home. He pulled out a gun and started shooting at the cops. Harmon saw the gas tanks of the the trailer and shot it, causing the whole thing to blow up (killing the guy inside, of course). So, just moments after killing some guy, he immediately starts joking around with his fellow cops about some dog. And the show ends with them all laughing, like some crappy old cop show (Like TJ Hooker!).
