Never could stand Dana Carvey. Phil Hartman was a genius. Loved his Anal Retentive Chef and his Clinton impersonations.
As far as the season opener, I'm just glad that they didn't do "Jared's Room" or the Middle School bit with Dratch as Sheldon. I'm also happy that there's no more Brian Fellow's African Safari and Astronaut Jones. Finesse Mitchell is the funniest black player they've hired since Eddie Murphy, which I know is not saying much. I can't believe it took them over 15 years to find a funny black comedian in NYC. Where was Lorne looking? |

One of the best skits ever is when Queen Latifah was hosting and they did that Regis and Kelly skit.
Hammond and Pohler(sp?) are a genius comedic duo. They are the only two people on this show that are any good. |

Thinking about all the SINGING in Saturday's show, I'm reminded of a sketch from last year's Queen Latifah show - "Give Up the Ham". Does anyone remember it?
Where the women are fighting in the supermarket over the last ham, and then Will Forte comes in and starts singing "Give Up The Ham"...and then a narrator walks in and explains that this sketch was written by a drunk writer who may or may not have been trying to send a message about world peace.

And why the fuck did Will Ferrell make one appearance at the beginning with Jack Black and then disappeared? I kept waiting to see him pop up in a later skit, but he never came back. Who is the host for this coming Saturday night? They just announced a musical guest (Justin Timberlake) and that was it. It's pretty bad when they don't have a schedule guest one week in advance... |
