Kenan is not as funny as Tracy. Kenan is to much a "Kid" actor.

Kenan on SNL?
What's next Kel? Yeah right. Wait, is Kenan the fat one? just what they need a token Black fat kid. Oy! FYI Maya Rudolph's mom sang that "Loving You" Song in the 70s (you know, the one that goes-in my really bad high octave voice-"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH aaahhhhhh ahh ah") |

So far, So good. The opening theme is GREAT and so is the new set. The new opening theme is ALOT better then almost ALL others. The only one better is the one from the late 80's/early 90's one with chris farley putting ketchup on fries and Phil hartman at a table with a women.

The Yankee superhero animation wasnt there best, but was completely saved by the Derek Jeter sonic scream.

Finesse Mitchell's spot on Weekend Update was a goof. The whole cheerleading thing during the movie LOL
Before I forget - I love Horatio Sands. I know he mostly does quick skit stuff, but holy shit does he crack me UP. |

Weekend Update and the Cheers singing skit in succession have saved this episode, which had been horrible up until that point.
The Al Sharpton-Nutrageous joke was hilarious. |

I liked the Wanda Sykes/Bill Cosby thing, if only because Maya WAS Wanda, and Kenan WAS Cosby.

Jack Black saved the show tonight. The wine spitting skit, probably a poorly written skit overall, was saved by his comic timing. AND he can sing.

It's time for Horatio Sands, Jimmy Fallon, Maya Rudolph, and everyone else who isn't Tina Fey and Darrell Hammond to get out. Just get out. Out of the studio. Leave. Forever. Now.
It's time for Lorne Michaels to put his foot down and demand at least one straight man per skit. The cooking cllass was all too typical of SNL in recent years. You've got five "funny" characters, and no normal characters. The funny characters take turns giving out "funny" lines. They even had the consideration to go in the same order over and over. Weekend Update is the only thing propping the show up, except for Darrell Hammond and the political stuff. The Yankees? Is anyone on the entire SNL staff a non-New Yorker and a baseball fan? Outside of NYC, few people like the Yankees. The whole country is filled with Yankee haters. That includes me. The whiny singer sucks ass. Finally, the "baby thong" thing was a horrifying example of the sexualization of children. Not only was it unworthy of even a smirk, it was morally degrading to just watch it. |

I was pleasantly surprised by the season premiere. There were enough funny moments to make it worthwhile. The best thing to happen to SNL was Tracy Morgan leaving. Thank God! The man was not funny. He could never become any of his characters. It was always him playing his inarticulate, dim-witted personality. Astronaut Jones and Brian Fellow were never funny.
Tim Meadows was equally unfunny and I was happy when he left the show. How hard is it to find a funny black man in New York City? I can't stand Horatio. His sense of humor is stuck in 7th grade and he cracks himself up more than he makes the audience laugh. They need to find a genuinely funny guy to fill the "fat guy" role. Thank God they hired Finesse Mitchell!!! He looks like he's going to become a huge star! He's the funniest black featured player since Eddie Murphy. His anecdote about the birthday party at a Magic Johnson Theater during "Crouching Tiger" during Weekend Update was one of the funniest segments they've ever done on that segment. I still love Maya and Amy! They are the best things on SNL. Dratch is growing on me, especially when she plays old Jewish ladies. This season is very promising!!! |

Switched over to SNL after the first half of MadTV (which had on a Queer Eye skit that was a lot funnier, btw) to catch Jack Black, but fell alseep soon after. Either I missed all the haha stuff, or SNL still sucks (mostly) since it lulled me into slumber. My bad timing for missing the Wanda/Cosby thing.
That Smigel cartoon was the weakest I had ever seen in recent memory. Since when does Rachel NOT play an old woman or some kind of malformed/misunderstood being? I feel sorry for her every time she gets the ugly roles, even though she kinda is. Loved Amy P. ever since she played Andy Richter's "sister" on Conan. Seth does't get enough airtime. Fallon breaks out of character too much and that's distracting when he fucks up. Horatio is usually the cause. But he grates. |

Quote: I hope to christ your joking or else you are the biggest loser on this board to date. Its a JOKE, not porn! And Finness Mitchell sucks! hes a goddamn standup comic. The reason most of these people are good is because they came from the groundlings and second city which are improve stuidios. He might be funny to some but the real testis if he can do a skit. which he cant, he sucked in the Wade Robson project skit. |

The baby thong skit was funny. I wouldn't put it past the diaper companies to actually come up with something like that. Jack Black, as always, was hilarious. I doubt very few actors could've pulled off that wine tasting sketch and make it so funny. The Smigel cartoon did suck ass. It's was too much like the "Ex-Presidents" to begin with, plus I don't know anything about the Yankees, nor do I want to.
The new guy who told that movie theater story during Weekend Update: that was the worst part of the show. Black audiences get loud in a movie theater? Geez, we've never heard black comedians joke about THAT before. |
