I've said for years that Darrel Hammond has long outstayed his welcome, and I stand by that...but damn if that Clinton bit on Update wasn't the
greatest thing to come out of this show since "Lazy Sunday."

I, for some reason, LOVED the boat musical thing.
And the car scene. |

Tina was again brilliant and the highlight of the show. My only concern is that they're making Palin look smarter than she actually is.

Tina Fey is a genius. Darrall Hammond still cracks me up when he does Bill Clinton, he's spot on.

I thought that last night was a pretty good episode. I just wonder why it seems like the good writers only write when a comedian hosts.

Not a bad ep at all. What surprised me was the amount of complex comedy they were doing -- the incomparable Fey & Poehle, Anna & Sudekis with the
rapid fire convo on not being liked in the car, Wiig's just kidding bit -- this is stuff they've not been doing in a long while. Nice to see them
working for the laughs rather just phoning it in like so many times lately.
Hammond owns Clinton. I once chatted with him after seeing him do stand up; he said he's got tapes of Bill from all period of the day -- apparently his voice gets more ragged as the day goes on. I thought Hartman's Clinton could be never be surpassed (remember the evil warlord skit in the McDonald's?), but dayum if he didn't do it. Duffy seemed to be fine, but there are a gazillion performers out there that do the exact same thing. "Mrs. Palin, when you're trapped in a corner, is it possible that you simply become more adorable"? Onwards to Anne Hathaway! |

Props to Anna Faris who gave it her all...even though the sketches were pretty terrible overall.
Tina Fey was once again brilliant as Palin. I am probably in the minority but I absolutely love Duffy, and her CD. There may be others like her out there, but I think she has more charisma than many of them. I couldn't take my eyes off her and her cheesy little dance moves as she sings. |

When was the last good opening monologue? With every year, season, and episode they seem to get worse and worse. Didn't they used to be funny?

I'm glad their site is putting up the clips. I guess I haven't looked there in a while. Hammond as Clinton "Sometimes women will be
uncomfortable doing something at first...." I love his Clinton.
