After tonight's show, I think it's safe to say--never, ever have an athlete host again. It wasn't a perfect show by any means but it makes so much
of a difference when the host has an ounce of acting ability. The Cougar Den and digital short were pretty lame, but the rest of it was pretty solid. I loved
the Of Mice and Men lost ending (even though they did something sorta similar in the early 90s), the OJ juror selection, and the William DaFoe thing at the
end. The cold open was solid, Update was less strung out than last week, and the New York Times sketch ran a bit long but was pretty good.

I watched the first 30 minutes or so that I had recorded, and it was pretty excruciating. How can you mess up with a host like James Franco--I guess it's
possible. It's the cast that is so unbelievably lame now. After Amy Poehler leaves, there is no hope left. The rest are just not funny. Kristin Wiig
has some potential, but she has been pushed into the twitchy antisocial freak roles lately. Of the guys--Jason Sudekis, Seth Meyers, Will Forte, Bill
Hader--all achingly UN-funny. Andy Samberg should jump ship now and get into production or writing. Darrel Hammond needs to do whatever assorted political
imitation they happen to need. Fred Armesin--weird. Kenan Thompson--token black cast member, also unfunny.
I hate to give up on this remnant of my college years, but I think it's over for sure now.

You know I truly hated Fallon as anchor on Weekend Update, but myers is making me beg to have fallon back on. And that's sad, because Weeken Update was
what I looked forward to the most, but now I change the channel whenever it's on.
