Is it not an action type show w/ bad men and good men and if you don't know who's who or what bad blood has gone down between everyone you're fucked?
Non procedurals like DH or Grey's can be hard to just jump into but not impossible b/c most of what happened in the earlier seasons is irrevelant to what is going on right now and anything that is important is mentioned ever so often to fill in the big picture.
24's early on action is prob. still important just guessing since althought it's in season 6, it's only 1 day per season so the early on stuff isn't exactly old news on screen. They MUST be referencing stuff from Season 1 or 2 still since that would only be a few days earlier.
