i loved siren!!! she was the deaf one. diamond was great too. my favorite part of the show was definitely the e.liminator.

This was without a doubt one of my favorite shows growing up. I used to catch the reruns on USA every evening. Here's what I recall about some of the gladiators...
ICE - sexy but had a smoker's voice...ugh...did ICE change her name to LACE or were they completely different? DIAMOND - huge tits...definitely had implants STORM - kicked ass on that challenge where they hung from the rings and tried to pull their competitors down...what was that called? ZAP - had that insane wind up move on the Joust that would knock a bitch's head off... LASER - i think this is when i realized I was officially gay. this was pre-steroids, though NITRO - known for dominating in the conquer ring SUNNY - anyone remember her from the first season? |

The first season is unwatchable for me. The games are all so barren and the @#%$ sucks hard. Plus Theisman's lame ass introduction where he describes the concept as "visually interesting."
It didn't get real good until the 3rd and 4th seasons when they moved to the larger studio and Adamle came aboard. |

The first season was the best for me. It was so 'pure' LOL! And Mike Adamle was on the first season too with Joe Thiesman. Does anyone remember Malibu from the first season. He and Sunny never came back. The last season where they had that Slim Jim crap everywhere was difficult to watch. I prefer the earlier seasons to the later. Anyone remember Billy Wurth from Season 1? He was in Lost Boys as one of the vampire posse.

The best idea they placed on the E.liminator was the headstart determined by the lead.
What was everyone's fave game? I think mine was either Assault or the Pyramid. |

Loved: Powerball, Joust, The Gauntlet, The @#%$ (not the whack first season version or the last version with the Ball Pit instead of the rolling log), Breakthrough and Conquer, and Whiplash..... Yes I am an EXPERT on all events and gladiators (don't really remember most contestants except for the champions and the memorable ones).
Sabre was THE SHIT! Turbo.... yum yum yum! Loved Storm and Jazz! Ice was cool. I thought Elektra was HOT! Anybody remember Sky? She was 6'3" and TOWERED over most female contestants! Loved Blaze ALWAYS getting disqualified and Viper ALWAYS getting his ass kicked LOL |

GUTS was nothing like American Gladiators except that both were physical competitions.
I loved both shows though. I think my favorite event was definitely the Gauntlet. |

Mike O'Malley hosted every crappy kids game show on Nickelodeon. He was the poor kid's Marc Summers.
My gym teacher tried out for American Gladiators when I was in fifth grade. I think the problem was they didn't know what she was. She was super pissed when she came back and had gotten cut at the third round calls or whatever. Favorite game? I loved Assault and I really liked when they introduced Sky Track. I know I hated Breakthrough and Conquer. Lame. |
