Lots of people are emotionally disconnected to their spouses, but you don't see them sleeping with their students.
This is the biggest mistakes show, there should be lots to dish about :-)

I missed that part, but I was surprised at how nice she was to the guidance counselor who posed for porno shots for a magazine (which also ended up on the internet).

It's not like she had posed a long time ago and the pictures showed up.
She was working at a school and went out and did XXX pictures?? She shouldn't be allowed to work at any school, she could end up like the other woman. |

I didn't get to watch it all, but hearing Oprah go off about the woman "holding open her vagina" made me laugh and laugh.
Oprah doesn't pay guests, right? I can see the first woman going on to sell her books, but the guidance counselor wasn't selling anything, was she? I can't figure out why the "drop out prevention" counselor would be on there. What did the last woman lie about? I had to leave before that came on. |

The last one (I think) was a young paraplegic woman who originally taped an Oprah show and told her tragic story of how a cell phone caused her car accident, but called and recanted before the show aired and admitted that (oops) she was also legally drunk at the time.
Personally, I'll bet she calls back tomorrow and confesses she can actually walk just fine and she lied about being paralyzed. Her carefree, blase attitidue about everything seems very fishy to me. |

Will Oprah charge Racism to Hermes of Paris. She arrived at 6:45pm to shop and the store was closed. Duh, bitch, did you use the "Do you know who I am?" line?
She will address the situation in the fall. come on Access Hollywood. |

According to the article I read on the net last night, Oprah is very much making this a black issue about not being let in that Paris store 15 minutes AFTER it closed. I don't know about you all, but when is the last time a store unlocked the door for you 15 minutes after it closed?

Gee poor Oprah.. turned away as they thought she was some "African". Well Hermes didn't recognize America's queen. THANK GOD.. Hermes goes on my approved list immediately.
I don't recall ever seeing Oprah on in France. Why would they give a shit about her? So she buys dozens of Birkin bags at 13K a pop... well that doesn't make her special, it makes her a stupid consumer. And one thing Oprah is is that!!! Christ I hate her favorite things show. Its like she thinks she is discovered the cure for cancer and is sharing her good fortune by giving a few morons a drop of the magic elixir. Honestly why do all these middle age hausfraus pander to this bitch? She took Phil Donahue's show and then became Jerry Springer only to turn into the black Mother Teresa and somehow that makes her superior. I think not!!! I find her "interview" technique lacking as evidenced by that Tom Cruise fiasco. But frankly who could forget her Michael Jackson specials or any other of her asskissing episodes with Madonna.. etc. And what is wierd is they all buy her shit - Travolta gave her a goddamm Rolls Royce. Why do they asskiss her so? Frankly I also don't believe she lost the weight with diet and exercise. Her history and pattern of weight belies this. I think like Star Jones ole tubbyguts had a band put in. I have always found her disingenious with her charity.. more out of guilt to rectify her obsession with materialism and with food and possibly her sexuality which has long been questioned. For a woman who wants to do good why charge hundreds of dollars to hear her speak? Why not free? Why so many homes valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars? Why not live comfortably and luxuriously but not excessively. 54 million she paid for he Montecito home. The broad is phonier than Tom Cruise and that is saying something. |

Quote: heeee!!! you know, i've always been sort of "ehh" on Oprah. never had a strong feeling on her one way or the other and if i had to pick a side, i'd probably side with her. however, you made some interesting points. i never really considered the fact that she is friends with two of the biggest phonies and liars in the known universe (Tommy and Johnny T.) and that certainly says something... and she's not a good interview. what she is, is connected and respected and that's why people open up to her. |

this business about her sexuality.. did i miss those rumors? is it because she never married or had children? or does it have something to do with Gayle King? who she speaks more affectionately about than Stedman..

Re: one more thing | ||
Quote: Gayle who never remarried after her divorce, quit her job and now works for Oprah. She is always by her side. Stedman is out of Oprah's life - as she dumped him claiming he reminded her of the past and her fat days.. that or maybe because his company and partner Armstrong Jones or whatever his name is was paid by Bush to promote No Child Left Behind to black causes/radio/tv... I don't think Oprah wants the taint of politics. Notice she seems to avoid poltical issues being friends to all.. as that is also really important to her. Oprah seems obsessed with being liked. And to some she is almost a cult like persona herself. Perhaps that is why she likes Tom and John as they have that intesity that cultists have. I have always felt that her weight was the only thing that showed how deeply insecure she is. I never bought her bullshit claims that she had some baby that died or did coke. The only man ever in her life was Stedman and he was in it for the connections and she relates to people like her who live a life of "secrets and lies" She gloms onto any trend and proclaims it like she is Columbus discovering a new land. Frankly it is quite obvious and she has to be one of the most lonliest angriest women next to Martha. |

Anyone see that recent SNL skit? It was Oprah's show and a woman was on whose house had burned down and she lost everything. Oprah's like, "I'm so sorry. But we have a special surprise for you. JOHN TRAVOLTA IS HERE!" And everyone jumps up screaming and cheering except the woman who's house burned down, because she just doesn't give a shit about John Travolta because her house burned down. Then: "JULIA ROBERTS IS HERE!" And the same deal with everyone but the victim cheering.
On one hand Oprah talks about helping needy people and living a fulfulling life and blah, blah, blah. But then she turns right around and delves into her narcissistic, materialistic, celebrity-worshipping real life. It's really embarrassing how much she kisses celebrities' asses, since she's a pretty big celebrity herself. |

wow glam.. i never realized any of that. pretty convincing profile you outlined. like i said, oprah never really registered on my radar, although her cultish appeal to the soccer moms of the world has always creeped me out...
word on her weight though and i see that as her last hurdle into total acceptance. |

Re: one more thing | ||

why is it whenever a woman is unmarried and doesn't want to have children of her own people assume she as issues with her sexuality? i see plenty of unmarried men without children and no one wonders if that have "issues" with their sexuality
i see some people here have issues' with o but at least she gives back and gives back consistantly which is more than some stars and average people do... |

Yes Papa she is making your dreams come true as I speak..
And this new incident in Paris only proves to serve that she is an egomanic of high proportions. Using the proverbial race card to accuse Hermes when they had the temerity, the audacity, the stupidity to not recognize America's goddess. God help the French. ________________________ ARIS (AP) - Oprah Winfrey is suggesting she was turned away from the Hermes luxury clothing store in Paris because she's black and is calling the incident humiliating. "People were in the store and they were shopping. Oprah was at the door and she was not allowed into the store," Gayle King, a friend of Winfrey who witnessed the incident, told TV show Entertainment Tonight. "Oprah describes it herself as 'one of the most humiliating moments of her life."' King said it's unlikely that Winfrey will shop there again. "She's really OK. Her position is, 'I will shop where people appreciate my business, and I don't believe that any longer includes Hermes,"' King said. The store appeals to the wealthy with their famous colourful scarves going for over $500 each. Coffee mugs run over $100 while ties top $200.         A spokeswoman for Winfrey's Chicago-based Harpo Productions said Thursday the talk-show host plans to discuss what she calls her "Crash" moment when The Oprah Winfrey Show returns to the air in September. Crash is a film dealing with race relations. Hermes has apologized to the TV talk-show host who is reputed to be a billionaire for turning her away after saying it was closed for a public relations event. Winfrey and "an entourage" unsuccessfully tried to enter an Hermes boutique on Paris' Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore, Hermes said in a statement. On that particular night, however, "a private public relations event was being prepared inside." "Hermes regrets not having been able to welcome Madame Oprah Winfrey and the people accompanying her to give them all the attention and service that Hermes is committed to giving each of its clients in the world," said the statement, released Tuesday. "Hermes expresses its sincere regrets for any misunderstanding that these circumstances could have caused." _________________ Let me understand something.. she has confessed to having a child die from out of wedlock, was a coke addict, had food obsession issues, was poor and black living in the South at a time when 6 young girls were killed in a church basement and this incident is the WORST in her life?? You have to be kidding me. Anyone knows that Parisians are famous for their arrogance. Particularly at Hermes where frankly if you aren't Asian they take zero notice. The store was closed, they explained why they were not making exceptions and shit half of us can't get someone at Macy's to help us find jeans. Why she and her entourage couldn't contact them ahead to arrange this is beyond me, as that is how its done when you are famous. She truly is mauvais, agacant, désolé |
