Don't know if anyone caught the Pride last week. OMFG!
Silva got the absolute s@%t beat out of him by CroCop! I've never seen Silva so owned. I bet Chuck was going nuts over that fight. |

Chuck won't be fighting either of them. It's not happening.
Basically PRIDE used Dana White and the UFC to promote their fighter and more importantly their first PPV in the US. Not sure if they ever had any intention of having that fight happen but it's not happening. At least, not this fall/winter. |

I hope we never see Shamrock in the UFC again. He should have fought someone else to look good before taking on Tito. Man, he was absolutely dominated by Tito. I'm not a Tito fan BTW.

I caught the PPV last night. I'm shocked Rich Franklin got dominated and beatdown within one round! Anderson Silva put on a Muay Thai boxing clinic with his clinch and knees. Franklin's nose was pointing East after the fight! The unbelievable comment Franklin made after the fight was he thought the clinch would be his sweet spot. He totally underestimated Silva and his kickboxing background.
Kenny Florian showed he belongs. Man was that a bloodbath! I thought Sean Sherk would maul him within 1 or 2 rounds. He lasted all 5 and showed good skills. Good for Kenny. I think he actually gained more in losing than Sherk did in winning since he was such a big underdog. |

Silva looked good beatin' the snot out of Leben (who I can't stand) and he *really* looked good against Franklin. He sure has a good start to his UFC career. I see Mike Swick is calling him out. I think Silva can beat him. I'd like to see Silva fight David Terrell. |

Franklin surprised me. No answer for his clinch!?! Seriously. There was nothing there. Maybe, MAYBE, he got hurt with the first few knees, but not even an attempt to a takedown.
Franklin conspiracies: 1. He looked sickly walking in before the fight, regardless of bruised eye. 2. His wife was crying BEFORE the fight! Not her first time watching her husband fight so there should be no reason for this. 3. Huges made a statement BEFORE the fight saying that he will step up to middleweight to fight Silva. Franklin is his buddy, who makes a statement like this pre fight!?! WTF!?! Matt Serra and Shonie Carter was a good fight! Serra makes this show. |

i heard that franklin was sick for a few days before the fight. Probably good for is weight division he lost, least they have a rematch that should do a good buy rate

I've been mostly indifferent to Franklin, but he needs a rematch STAT! Between he and Shamrock, I'm not sure who went out like the bigger punk.

I was listening to a MMA radio show this morning and they confirmed Franklin is out for at least 6 months...so we won't be seeing that rematch anytime soon. Hopefully Swick and Silva will go at it next, they matchup pretty well.
There definitely were some abnormal things going on with Franklin pre-fight, makes you wonder if Dana is getting his nose dirty pulling strings behind the scene's just to market his empire more internationally with guys like Silva as the new golden boy |

I suscribe to the Wrestling Observer newsletter. Dana White was pretty shocked that Rich lost per the newsletter. Rich is articulate and has a Masters degree in education. Anderson Silva winning was definitlely not in Dana's master plan.
After Pride's succesful Las Vegas show hopefully the UFC will up the ante and give us some good shows! |

Ugh. That's all I can say about the Lutter vs. Sell fight. I think Anderson Silva has nothing to worry about after seeing who he might have to fight after season 4 of TUF. Lutter, Cote or Dewees will be nothing but cannon fodder for Anderson. The only competition he has if UFC signs Matt Lindland or if Rich Franklin learns how to fight out of the Muay Thai clinch.
