Colby on why Survivor was worse than the holocaust: "I had tennis shoes and then all the sudden I was in flip flops" "We had no snacks" "I couldn't even work out" It was so uncomfortably funny--just thisclose to being turn off the TV offensive until I got caught up in the sheer ridiculousness of it! Edited to add something I'd forgotten |

OMG....to me, that was the funniest episode of the SEASON.
To quote Jack Buck, "I don't believe what I just saw." Let's recap, shall we? Larry manages to make fun of 9/11 and the Holocaust, all through the eyes of a Rabbi. How priceless was that? And let's consider Mr. Quattro himself, Colby Donaldson. I said to Mrs. P when the Rabbi said "Survivor" that it would be someone from the show considering his 9/11 reference, but here I am thinking, Ethan or Burton or someone, you know, Jewish. Nope...the Rabbi is friends with Mr. Wasp, Colby. How funny was that? And for Colby to get into it with the Survivor and start comparing Australia to what he went through? We laughed our ASSES off in not only hilarity, but astonishment. Only Larry David could pull that off. |

He wasn't going to commit to the eternity thing, was he?
You're right, FWP...only he could pull off this stuff. He's a comedic genius. Now I'm waiting to see if the season finale can top last season's. |

As soon as the Rabbi said Survivor, I knew it was going to be someone from Survivor - but I expected Ethan since he is Jewish.

Better Colby than Johnny Fairplay.
Edited to add, it wouldn't have been as funny if it had been Ethan or another Jewish "Survivor." |

but it would have made more sense. This show isn't scripted so the script would have changed with whoever was the guest star.

"I'M a Survivor!"
"No, I'm a SURVIVOR!............." Hilarious Episode as far as Larry goes, but I think Cheryl was a bit whiny. And Colby should quit with the acting right there, b/c he had a bit of a hard time just playing himself. It felt quite overacted, like a 10th grade Musical. |

I watched the show again last night on HBO14.
Overall it was pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good. The scene where Larry makes up with his mom and playfully grabs her nose was great. Was I seeing things or was Liz Phair in the episode for about 10 seconds during the pre-ceremony meeting? I wonder if she was supposed to sing and then they cut out her performance. "Fuck and Run" would have been an appropriate song for this episode. |

Finale was not as good as the Survivor episode. But I appreciate the free preview of the Producers - suspicions confirmed - that's $130 saved(actually$260 not to mention dinner)
Mel Brooks was uncharacteristically Funny with Anne Bancroft(what does she see in him |

Hilarious episode- Larry playing OCD was great. Wish the show was always an hour, but you just wanna yell at the TV when he does crazy shit. "No, don't give that doorman a $20 to split with the other guy!!!"
Jeff seemed drunk the whole time. Cheryl wasn't quite as whiny. "I still have one hour!" |

Great show. You'd think Larry would have learned not to leave money with people after the parking lot incident.

Re: Great Final Episode!!! | ||
Quote: krabby - the "free preview" as you put it was just a pale imitation of the show...for God's sake it was LD and David Schwimmer doing the parts, not "real" broadway actors (or even real "actors" for that matter - Schwimmer can barely play himself convincingly...) The Producers is incredibly funny, and to dismiss it out of hand by watching LD perform is silly. Now, back to our previously scheduled program.... I loved the whole "Producers" idea for CYE...that LD was brought in to kill the show, freeing Mel Brooks from the albatross that is "The Producers"....that was genius!!! When Mel says "..that bald jew destroys everything he touches" (or something like that was priceless...and, just like in "The Producers", the show is a big success which ruins Mel's plans. The Anne Bancroft and Seinfeld cameos were great as well...Anne is a hottie - she looks so good! |

Am I the only one who was disappointed with the finale?
Mel's reason for hiring Larry was ingenious; but this finale did NOT compare with last year's. Meh. Maybe it's just me. And, of course, he wasn't going to get that anniversary present, was he? |

Quote: Hate to get on the sappy express, but I'm thinking he never really wanted it. The shots of Cheryl looking on adoringly in the audience made me think that he would have (and did!)found any excuse not to use the gift. I also think he wanted the Rabbi to tell him he shouldn't do it and that he was rather surprised when the Rabbi told him he should |

I kind of like it that he ended the season on a positive note: he was a hit on B'way, he made up with Schwimmer, he stayed faithfull.
Larry lands on his feet once again. Last season's finale was with the tourette's afflicted chef and he saved the day by having everyone start cursing in the restaurant. |
