One's enjoyment of this episode probably depends on how much of a Seinfeld fan you are. Because this was basically an episode of Seinfeld - with Larry subbing in for George.
The napkins, the scene at the deli with Richard Lewis, the phone call etiquette. Vintage Seinfeld.
I loved the banter between Jerry and Larry.

Curb is basically Seinfeld with all the plot lines that Larry could never have done on a network TV show (eg. Vehicular Fellatio)

If you haven't watched both shows then you couldn't possibly understand the statement, but to say that "This is Curb Your Enthusiasm, not Seinfeld" is 100% incorrect. I have watched every episode of both series and say this with absolute certainty. |

Disagree. I'm quite familiar with both shows and I can honestly say that CURB is CURB and SEINFELD is SEINFELD, being a CURB fan and not a SEINFELD fan.
Add me to the list of those who think that the less SEINFELD the better. This show might have the same problems that STUDIO 60 had with its show within a show:
Not funny or interesting to the people who came to see the main show.

I disagree too. I watched both although by the time it ended I was pretty much done wih Seinfeld. Jerry is the one I couldn't stand by the time it was
over. For Curb to be Seinfeld there would have to be four strong leads and there are not. Larry is the only lead. The rest are supporting players whose
presence is not required in each episode. Can you imagine a Seinfeld without George, Kramer or Elaine?

I would disagree to a certain extent for the first few seasons but now I am seeing more and more plots that remind me of Seinfeld bits I've already seen.
Christian Slater with the Caviar- reminded me of George and the funeral and the douple dipping.Hell I was surprised he didn't accidently let the wheelchair girl go flying down the concrete ramp and then have to buy her a "new" wheelchair with faulty breaks. |

So are you telling me that because Cheryl is going to play George's ex-wife that George is Larry? Or is it Larry that is George?

No. I still disagree too. Seinfeld proclaimed to be a show about nothing and not every show focused on George. Curb is a show about the trouble Larry
David's mouth, and Larry's mouth alone, gets himself into. Not the same.

This last episode felt like Larry David playing the role of George Constanza in a SEINFELD episode, whereas most CURB episodes felt like "oh, I can see
where the George Constanza character came from." A subtle difference, but an important one IMO The visual of Larry holding on to some chick's love
handles for dear life was funny, but it seemed more like something Kramer would be doing, not to mention that "flashback" (which was too sitcommy).
