That was me. I said you were obsessed and didn't 'have to' do anything. I didn't say you didn't have a life. Even an obsessed life is a life. Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, OH are easily accessible by car. Central Illinois has some that come out of fan groups associated with Univ of IL. I used to live out there and the bigger cities had conventions of all kinds. I'd recommend the fan run ones and not the commercially for profit ones.

I generally play nice on boards but the "have to correct the wrong information" self appointed Battlestar gestapo shot my goat. No one HAS to do anything at sucks or any other board unless they're moderators.

If the BG storylines get any lamer then I don't know if the show should be allowed to continue. Maybe it should be shot and put out of everyone's misery before it becomes that much worse.

I love the grittiness and atmosphere of the show I just wish the writing would get more sophisticated and be less full of cliches and plot tricks. I wish it would give some indication that it has a direction.

SEASON 4??
Wow.

This is still season 2. It's just the second half. I thought it was Season 3 they ordered with the major cast signing on again (which is how we knew the Prez had a miracle cure--or at least remission).

You're going to be right in the long run. If just the producer's grandmother and her 3 cats are watching they'll go through at least season 5.

If Ben Browder and Claudia Black are willing to jump the gate by then, BG can probably stretch to season 8. I'll watch those 2 in anything. I miss Farscape.

I've been vocal in my criticizing their lack of direction for BG and their crappy storylines but I don't know if I have any ideas for improvement. Anyone have any ideas on ways they could go that wouldn't be cliched or (worse) wouldn't turn them into ST:V'ger?

Except for the too many, way too many closeups of actors faces, especially Starbucks, I liked the episodes. The camera in the face got distracting. Sorry, there was no depth to be gleaned from counting the moles on Starbuck's face. There never is a depth in Apollo's lost "where's my momma" duckling eyes. Apollo has bulked up some. Now that was nice to see for all of 2 seconds.

Up until Starbuck's unconvincing epiphany about understanding WHY the Kat was challenging her, the conflict and competition between the 2 women was written convincingly. Women are bitches in the workplace when the Alpha female competition rears it's bitchface. The reason of why Kat was challenging her was bullshit. The fact of 2 women in a competitive environment was reason enough for Kat to want to challenge for alpha. It was good that in the end the competition wasn't ended with Kat and Starbuck getting along. There was still an undercurrent of animosity. That was good. That was realistic.

I liked the additional backstory about the Cylons, loved that tactics had changed for them since the loss of the resurrection ship. It's interesting that Momma Toaster still has some sort of connect with them to understand their change of tactics. I loved that they were ready to shoot her in her looking for a hug moment.

The Director should be less in the actors faces. I don't want to be counting moles and freckles. I thought the writers did a better job on this episode.
