Even when they're pretty much handed a victory, the Rookies can't really pull it out. Still glad they won over the Vets, though. I really hope that "can't leave a man behind" rule was due to Coral getting the spider bite back in Gauntlet 1. She was left behind (though, they had a rule that if you left someone, it was a 10-minute penalty). But, I hope this was one more way she dicked the Vets over.

Posts: 1640 (03/20/08 9:37 AM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Hands down the worst RR/RW Challenge EVER, which says a LOT seeing as it is the one immediately after Inferno III. However, last night was good TV for the sheer entertainment value and sick irony. Every character edit this season made full sense after last night and all the arcs surprisingly came full circle. THE MAIN POINT: Notice how even when the Rookies won by default, MTV doesn't even show them celebrating or being congratulated or focus very much at all on them actually WINNING, that instead the money had to go to "someone". In essence, MTV ended this season by pointing out that ALL OF THEM WERE LOSERS!! Priceless! Some explanation of character arcs: Evan and Kenny/Ev: The arrogant fuckheads this season, especially when it came to confessionals. Really showed its ugly head last night when the 2 of them were basically willing to let Eric die. Throw Evelyn in that category as well. These three FreshMeaters were consistently shown as "The WEAKEST MUST GO" and "I dont see how we can possibly LOSE" and "Im so strong", etc. etc. Then show MAINLY the 3 of them as the ones flipping out at the final challenge, complaining about losing the money and money money money, we wanted to only win win win. Karma. Hilarious. Eat your words... the message couldnt have been any clearer. CT: Just more of the bully. Negative energy moreso on his on tribe than directed at generally being cocky. He has a temper and that is noteworthy for TV as the villain role, but was not emphasized as complete assholeness last night nearly as much as Evan/Kenny/Ev. At least he attempted to "help" Eric, even if it meant shoving his body thru the water. Paula and Diem: Held UTR for most of the season. Why associate them with such an evil and selfish bunch? Intentionally hidden, especially last night, so that all of them didnt look so bad. Robin: The minor voice of reason for female Vets. She was always shown with Katie in the early/mid season as the partner in crime in the "If the men throw it the women will too..." Katie left. Whos left to serve as the link between the wisdom of the older folks and the outright sheer cockiness and stupidity of the newer folks? Ding ding. Robin. Comes full circle last night when she tells us "If ANY of these men had balls to step up and get rid of Eric and face him in a Gauntlet, this woulda never happened." Well said. True. 100%. Line of the season. Brad: Also somewhat hidden this season, and for good reason. Like Diem and Paula, why associate them with the rest of these assholes if they arent the main catalysts behind all the terrible stuff that went down last night? Last night especially was his shining moment, serving as the honorable vet. Likely an issue that boils down to age and maturity. Kudos to him, because I just dont see shitholes like Kenny or Ev being as mature as that 5-10 years from now. Adam: who cares... Eric: No brainer. His main story this season all came down to last night. Probably had more confessionals last night than he did for the entire season... Rookies, in reality didn't get it much easier last night. No shining angel or positive or "Wow theyre really GOOD" moments. They won by default, and MTV makes it disgustingly obvious that this was the best they couldve possibly hoped for!!! Fuckin awesome!! Please remove Rachel and Nehemiah from these challenges. They suck and have nothing to offer. Also funny how Danny still fuckin sucks!!! 16 episodes of this shit and I havent learned a damn thing about any of these people. Give me a challenge consisting of the following: Jenn (Real World), Angel, Veronica, Tina, Tonya, Linette, Aneesa, Coral, Trisha, Ellen The Miz, Theo (RR), CT, Abram, MJ, Lamont (Viewer Revenge), Steven (RW Vegas), Isaac, Teck, Yes Kthanksbye.

The rookies didn't really suck so much as they just had bad luck. Dig a hole in a big pit of sand is purely luck based. While you can make a strategy as to where to dig and spread out, it's mostly luck. At least have a big puzzle or something at the end.

It was at least cool to see all the other challenges incorporated into the final challenge. Next week's reunion is going to be good. I hope the Vets are called out for MANY reasons. I said this earlier and I will say it again. CT would NOT have been so supportive of a woman if she were the one in Eric's shoes. I don't understand WHY the Fresh Meat cast is turning into entitled spoiled brats who feel like they OWN the challenges and people need to prove something to THEM. I mean seriously, can we not have them appear on our tv screens ever again?

CT actually brings some entertainment while Danny and Evan are just hardcore douchebags, so CT sticking around wouldn't irk me at all. Minus a bunch of Key West and Fresh Meat in The Duel cast, I thought that was hands down one of the better castings, since next season is another spin-off of the Duel, can Diem, Casey, Evan and Eric please finally take a break from a damn challenge? Kenny's the only tolerable one. Swoon

I've been rewatching the original Battle of the Sexes and I really liked casting for that challenge. There was a person from every season of Real World and from Road Rules that had aired at the time and while a lot of people didn't get airtime, at least there were a shitload of entertaining moments from the ones that did. Puck needs to do another challenge even if he is annoying. He makes great TV. Here's a novel idea...how about a new season of Road Rules? X

They need to go back to the original format or at least the you "lose two missions vote off" format.
