It was sort of humour based soley on awkward moments rather than jokes. That works often but not for a whole show. I did find the scene in the office w/ Dwight to be hysterical. The way he grabbed that Indian woman as if she was in distress was amazing and let me just add, I luv Phyliss. Everything she does is just funny.

Or how to find American husbands who have succesful (pre)managerial careers in lucrative growth industries. I love asian cultures. I love noodles and martial arts. I love submissive women in robes who wash your feet at the end of a long day with their hair. My friend Carl Haddock visited China and said that the women were lined up for blocks to meet him. And with over 4 billion women there, those are some long blocks! As you probably read in the papers, there was a fire in the Dunder-Mifflin Scranton Branch last week. That is why I have been so tardy with my BLOG POSTS. During the coarse of the fire cleanup (I was in charge of the cleanup task force!) I spilled a Big Gulp on my computer keyboard and had to wait for the proper requisition forms to get initialed for a replacement. During the course of the fire the documentary crew captured me for all eternity rescuing the life of Kelly Kapour from smoke inhilation or worse. Worse is having your nylons melt into your flesh from the heat of the fire. Or having molten ore drip onto you while you're tied down and can watch the hot drops fall onto your forehead. Or having larvae maggots put into your nose. Or having your face sliced off by a Cylon. I am just about the world's biggest fan of Battlestar Galactica. The new AND the old. Starbuck is my dream woman. The new Starbuck. The old one was a man and that's just not me. Starbuck can kick ass plus she can make sweet love. Plus she's good at futuristic poker! If we were going out, I would insist that she stop smoking those cigars, though. And grow her hair out a bit more. And not fly so many dangerous missions. I think Edward James Olmos makes a great captain. I wish I was the guy just below him. The assistant Captain. I would follow him to the ends of the universe. Too bad about his skin, though. Next week is going to be holloween. I can't decide whether to dress as a Cylon or as a Sith Lord or as Kill Bill. Log in, Schrute-space fans, with your halloween costume ideas! That is all. I spewed on that one. Hubby's a pastor and you have no idea how many people treat the Purpose Driven Life like it is THE MOST IMPORTANT BOOK EVER and a work of fiction is the MOST EVIL BOOK EVER. So funny. I love this show.

Anyway, ITA that the Office rules w/ awkwardness but I thought that the eppy just lacked some actual punchlines, that's all. Is Jim's gf the same actress that played Catherine in Cruel Intentions 2?

Almost all the girls being dressed as cats. "I bet you wish you wore a dress every day" "What does it say under martial arts experience?" The only thing I didnt get, what was the point of the scene at the very end with the trick or treaters?

However, I think they're ruining the Michael Scott character this year. They're laying on the pity parade way too much (almost every episode) and he's barely a dick anymore. He's just a boss who's not qualified for his job with no friends. Not as funny as it could be. The show still's entertaining though, but they need to turn things around, make him more Brent-like (like how he was in the Diversity Day episode in S1). Otherwise, when he gets fired at the end, it will just be cruel and he won't really deserve it. And the fact that he ended up having to decide who to fire between two characters who had barely (if ever) even appeared on the show before was kind of a cop-out. And the way he was acting at the end with the trick or treaters reminded me a lot of 40 y/o virgin.

Dwight's face covered by the cowl except for his mouth directly lifted from Star Wars was brilliant. The cat costumes. I think they think they need to soften Mike's character or lose all the new fans brought aboard by 40 year old virgin. The show is doing OK but not great.

I think they have improved Michael Scott this year and it's sensible to make him more sympathetic. He is still inept and deserves to be fired, but last season he just looked like an asshole. This season he strikes me more as someone lacking social skills and friends and there's more of a reason that he is an asshole. Maybe I'm just reading too much into this!

Michael offerred him a healthy severance package and Chili's gift certificate, though. His parting words were something like, "Jim, Pam, Angela, Kelly, Phyllis, Toby, Oscar, Meredithm Stanley, Kevin, Dwight, temp guy... if anybody wants to meet me for drinks I'll be at the bar down the street. Everybody else can screw themselves."
