I'll agree that his little grin was perfection! I also liked how you know she's pregnant but it was never spoken to us. I was ooohing and awe-ing.
Jam <3 Poor Michael.. that was your perfect time to say something to Holly!!!!!

I guess I'm in the minority, because I thought this finale was pretty good. Loved the volleyball antics that Scranton participated in, Michael and
Holly's "SlumDunder Mifflinaire" skit, Pam having a bun in the oven, Dwight's friend. I was fine with them not going over-the-top for the
finale and instead letting their one big shocking moment was with the end scene with Jam.

Michael's little summary to the camera about how the time is not right, how she is with someone, and then later he'll be with someone and then how
eventually they will end up together, is an interesting meta-cognitive wink to the audience: Yeah, audience, you know that this is how we have to tell the
love story, because now that the true love story of Jim and Pam has cycled to it's end (same thing - Pam with Roy then Jim with whatsherface then true love
forever), now it's Michael and Holly's turn to stretch out the drama. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I like the nod to the audience, but on
the other hand . . . meh.
Jim and Pam's reaction to being told they are pregnant was TOTALLY unrealistic for any couple who are not actively trying to have a kid. When you're not trying to have a kid, the reaction has to be mixed at best, even if ultimately you end up excited. So that was an eyeroll moment for me for sure. |

How can you say how a couple would react to the news. Everyone's different. They may not have been actively trying but it's not like their lives would
be at al inconvenienced by a baby (more so than normal). So why not be elated? It wasn't unrealistic at all IMO>

It is pretty standard procedure as they need to make sure they do no harm to the fetus. I thought the scene was great! Definitely brought a smile to my face.

According to the S5 DVD/Blu-ray press release 2 copies will include "Dunder Mifflin Golden Tickets". The Golden Ticket holders will win a trip to visit the set and meet the cast/crew. Genius :) |

I've really gotten into this show lately, and I'm trying to mass-watch all episodes before the S6 premiere. I had seen some eps before offhand, but
never in order or watched it religiously. That is changing!
So I've watched a lot of eps in the last few days and I watched so fast I probably missed lots of little things, but here are some thoughts/comments/questions/etc, mostly about JAM but some other stuff too. -Creed is my favorite character. So off the wall. "Creed Thoughts" on Microsoft Word is one of my favorite gags from the entire show. Also randomly selling underage IDs and talking about it like it's an everyday normal thing everyone does. -Season 2, ep 1, the Dundies...Roy/Darryl leave, Pam fights with Roy and stays. (More assertive Pam already?) She then gets wasted and after getting the "whitest sneakers" award she kisses Jim on the lips. I wasn't expecting that, also no real followup to it as if nobody would talk about an engaged chick smooching a guy she always flirts with at work in front of the ENTIRE OFFICE? I thought that was an odd moment, I suppose they were going for her just being happy and drunk and cutting loose. I did like her trying to talk to Jim later and not saying anything because of the camera, good teaser for their relationship. -Late in season 2 Jim complains Pam spends work time planning her wedding. I think this is the ep before the finale. I thought this was odd as well, because you'd think it would be an issue of real conflict but never was really developed. Also Jim didn't try to pass it off as a joke, he said he was frustrated talking to Toby one day...seemed out of character but the next ep their joking around at the start and all is good. I thought that was a bit strange. -Season 2 finale final scenes were very well acted. Clearly she has to turn him down the first time, but I was expecting him to come in when she's on the phone with her mom, try to apologize and then have her kiss him, not vice versa. Because this way it's like "you already rejected me once but dammit I'm gonna force myself onto you" which is kind of weird, but it still came off well. Good cliffhanger stuff, glad I wasn't watching at the time and had to wait! -Season 3 ep 1 has one of my favorite moments in the entire show when Jim puts Andy's stuff in jello and then sees he's not like Dwight as he freaks out. Classic Jim camera glances and Ed Helms is a RIOT. "I'm gonna lose my freakin' mind!" -Season 3 at some point Pam is crying over stuff with Jim and DWIGHT comforts her. This surprised me but I really liked it as it showed Dwight is more a comic foil than a villain, is good at heart (even if he thinks she's just PMS-ing!), etc etc. I'll be interested to see how they balance Dwight's character between hero/villain the rest of the show's run. -Season 3 "Cocktails" I was slightly surprised they showed Pam start to be more assertive here and smile at the camera when she tells the bartender her drink is wrong, etc. This attitude came kind of out of nowhere as hearing Oscar/Gil diss her art, you'd think, would crush her, not inspire her. Also wanting to get back with Roy was odd but I guess they were going for her trying to move on and be happy without Jim and trying REALLY hard, so having a fun night out brought back old memories, etc. It was actually kind of nice too as the whole show Roy/Pam seem so out of touch like you can't even picture them ever having been a couple, so you only really see that here. -Some of the JAM interactions season 3 are so awkward and brilliant, the "you gotta get your sleep" talk is sooooo awkward its heartbreaking, well done. -I love the reactions of Dwight/Michael when they throw the watermelon off the roof, it hits the trampoline, and breaks on Stanley's car. Just classic. Also Michael mentioning finding a hate crimes lawyer or something, LOL. -S3's ending is nice but man feels crappy to miss what happens on their dinner date and never see that stuff and then skip ahead to them dating in S4E1. I don't like it when we get good moments stolen from us! That's all I got. Can't wait to watch the rest of the eps and see the premiere! |

Early S6 info
- Erin will continue as part of the supporting cast (she was by far the bright spot in the mediocre episodes that followed Michael's return to DM) - Pam's mom is returning but apparently they're recasting the role Premiere (9/17) "Gossip" written/directed by Paul Lieberstein. Michael feels left out of the gossip loop and tries to start rumors of his own. Ep2 (9/24) "The Meeting" written by Aaron Shure, directed by Randall Einhorn. Involves Darrell getting workman's comp. Ep4/5 (10/8) "Wedding Day" written by Greg Daniels and Mindy Kaling, directed by Paul Feig. An hour-long episode, probably pretty obvious what it's about. |

I figured Wedding Day would be the premiere. Though Gossip sounds like another potential classic.
Glad to see The Office returning. |

Very happy to hear that the wedding episode is an hour long (or two episodes in one night, it seems). Also glad to hear that Erin is sticking around, and
I'm curious to see what kind of heavy character quirks they will throw her way as she wasn't incredibly fleshed out last season.

I kind of like that she's a wide-eyed innocent kind of in over her head in that environment.
