Bush should have made everyone in attendance sign a loyalty oath just like at one of his rallies or speaking engagements.

I loved when he picked up the white roller skate in the parking lot and yelled, "Condi!"
Bill Maher also did a very funny take on the Press Secretary thing Friday night. His audition tape was priceless. The furious look on bush's face spoke volumes. He looked like he wanted to explode...and the great thing is, there wasn't a fucking thing he could do about it. Seeing that frustration was great. |

What's genius is that skewing Bush was just a side dish; the real attack was against the complacent, by-the-script press corps. It was a dry, two-pronged attack, worthy of the most bitter of celebrity comedy roasts, that got overshadowed by a clown Bush impersonator who was not really as funny as the real clown Bush.

Fuck, I don't know. I'm watching his show right now and he's just NOT funny to me. I hate the way he looks at the camera and points to the camera and shoots all around the room with his fingers. He was SAYING some funny things, but HE just isn't funny. He's too much like "LOOK AT ME! I'M BEING FUNNY!" for me to think he's funny.

I don't think it got overshaddowed by Bush's Patty Duke Show skit. I think its being treated to a "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" reaction from the MSM. They're pretending like it didn't happen, so no one will notice.
What I loved so much about it was the fact that Colbert didn't even seem to be trying for laughs. It was more a humorous assault than comedy routine. He knew his laughs would come later when people no where near that room would see it. Any retaliation from the usual suspects will just add to his lustre. Attacking him will seem so un-cool. I even loved seeing our pear-shaped First Lady act like a bitch. |

I love Stephen Colbert. I love him so much.
I can't believe the idiots who don't "get" what happened Saturday night. |

Hey SI, how many French jokes has O'Reilly used on Colbert so far?

That was just too awesome. The reception was a bit cold but that was expected
Oh and my new biology prof made a reference to a segment from the Colbert Report, so he must be cool |

I love that his character on Strangers with Candy is virtually the same as his "real" persona on The Colbert Report, sans the homosexuality with the art teacher.

taken from OT:
I fall on the conservative side, but can say Colbert was "on." I find it funny that everyone follows blindly along these liberal/conservative democrat/republican lines, like there's no going between or gray area. Colbert was funny but fell "flat" because he was at a White House sponsored event. Let's not kid ourselves that what he said was some sort of "liberal bias" when in fact everything he said was true...and it's funny to hear people say he bombed when I watched the video and heard a laugh after 90% of the jokes (especially coming from that audience.) It just speaks volumes about the amount of bullshit and lies some people willingly accept. Colbert called the press out on their laziness and now everyone is up in arms because they may actually have to produce. Still, listen to NPR. |

PUSSY! This is why the Republicans will retain both the Senate and the House in November...and the white House in 2008. It boggles the mind!
From Salon: A Democrat knocks Colbert, says Bush "deserves some respect" Vying for the Joe Lieberman Profile in Courage Award, Democratic Rep. Steny Hoyer took it upon himself Tuesday to defend George W. Bush from mean ol' Stephen Colbert. Hoyer, the Democrats' House whip, told the Hill that Colbert's performance at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner was funny but "a little rough," with some jokes that "crossed the line" and were in "bad taste." We're not sure which jokes Hoyer had in mind, and we're wondering if he made any similar objections about "bad taste" when the president made jokes about those missing WMD at a press dinner a couple of years ago. Somehow, we doubt it. Bush "is the president of the United States," Hoyer said Tuesday, "and he deserves some respect." |

WTFever. It was hilarious.
I love the Report too. I think Jesse Jackson was one of my favorites. "So, what are you going to do now that racism isn't a problem anymore?" |

Loved his interview today. The soldier/author was well-spoken and very passionate. He played off Colbert brilliantly.
