If you go to Features, then Videos, there is a little Hugh Laurie interview where he talks about his character. British accent.

Quote:As luck would have it, I watched Family Guy last night and it was that episode. Nigel Pinchley! That was a good voice, it sounded nothing like him. It's also not credited in IMDB, so I'm glad you mentioned it. |

This week's TV Guide has a nice article on Hugh Laurie. In it he modestly worries there won't be a season two, we learn that he drives a Triumph Bonneville motorcycle, and that he's been cast as Perry White in Singer's "Superman Returns." Just this morning I read in the paper that Fox has renewed House for a second season, so hooray for that!

Very ballsy of Fox to put in that sex scene at 9pm ET.
Anybody else found that arousing? Would you do her too? |

I was amused by the extra strongly worded caution - it was surely to warn the parents of the preteens still watching from AI. I'm pretty sure a few seconds were cut out of it from the first showing - it seemed choppy. And despite Madwoman's protestations to the contrary over in the AI forum, I saw no boner.

In my Officer Barbrady voice, "Nothing to see here folks. Move along."
I have this episode saved to my computer from when it originally aired. I was going to screencap the alleged boner for all you freaks, but alas, there wasn't one. Now go find something else to get excited about. |

for the naysayers who think the plots are repetitive:
House is the director of Diagnostic Medicine. The entire field is dedicated to tracking mysterious & unexplained illnesses. the Leper kid was a great ep -- do you really think that anyone's going to come up with that diagnosis the 1st try? and this week's pharmacy error: It was great to see him digging around until he found the proof -- that the 2 meds looked alike except for the 'L' on the cough pill. I would have also liked seeing what's-her-face walking back into the pharmacy to check the meds there. And did anyone else want to slap that friggin' mother out of her hair?? you don't give ANYBODY anything when their in the hospital -- you have no idea what drugs they're getting IV and what kind of interaction you could cause!!! 'oh, but, (sniff sniff), he was coughing'. you don't think that curing his low BP and failing kidneys was a higher priority than giving him his pills for a cough (and what the hell is wrong with throwing a pack of Halls at him if you're worried about the cough!?!?!?!). ok -- rant over. Love Hugh. Liked the human side when he helped that dumb clinic patient screw her company's medical plan. Anyone wanna buy an MP3 player? |

I just rented The Flight of the Phoenix and was pleasantly surprised to see Hugh Laurie in it! He made the movie worth watching...

Loved last night's episode - especially where new Chairman walks in on House jammin to The Who. The one liners were hilarious again, as usual.

SHould've known that if Chi McBride was joining the cast, he'd be a monster prick. And I'm hoping that we'll come back to House and the Australian (British?) doctor butting heads especially since he turned over the ipecac to the higher-ups.

Re: house | ||

Oh yeah - I see some major confrontations ahead. My question though - the Aussie doctor is a Doctor, so why did Chairman Moneybags say a nurse found the ipecac - just protecting Aussie or what?

Re: house | ||

I think it was meant to be a bit of an unknown - I see two options: Chase (the australian?) turned it over to the head cheese himself to garner favor or he gave it to a nurse to be 'found'.
It does set up lots of future conflict - I loved the comment by the chairman "It's a lot easier to get rid of a boardmember than a doctor" - a wonderful threat there. |

would power-chick really have kept that in her purse? it looked like the bottle Aussie found was full and still have a protection seal on it.
That was my only issue with the ep. Loved the scene with whats-her-face searching for resolution w/ House. And does anyone else think there are way too many cleavage shots of Cuddy? |

This episode wasn't my favorite, was a little too heavy-handed and stereotypical with the mob stuff. I am interested to see how the "fire one of your team" thing plays out.
eta: House came in fourth in the ratings last week - pretty unbelievable. Link to eonline article |

Yeah, the storyline this time was a little over-the-top, but the dialogue was great again. I am very interested in what will happen also with the directive to fire someone. I wonder if it will actually happen and who he will pick. I'm going with Aussie doc. Still trying to figure out though if he is the "rat". I have thought so for awhile, but then I wonder if he's too obvious.

Quote: i'm sure that the whole ''fire one of them'' is supposed to be teaser -- they can't fire the black guy (NAACP), they can't fire the chick (NOW), and the Aussie guy is just too obvious. I think the real rat is going to turn out to be whats-her-face :: she's just too goody-goody to let it slide about lying to the transplant team (and can I just say what I should have said 2 wks ago -- noone else noticed the cutting on her thigh?? hello....what kind of a hospital is this??). the aussie is just too obvious a choice, and since House is using the black guy as a diversion, it makes sense that the it's going to turn out that Cameron 'fessed up. |
