Nearby it, for certain, but given that the axe has NOT fallen yet, my bet is that a side deal is under discussion with another net. Don't forget that JAG got the axe on its first network, another picked it up, and it went on to have another five or so extremely successful seasons.

But does FOX have a cable sister-network they can work a deal with?

Bachelorette reruns with promos for an avenging winsome chick robot would be fun to see. Fox Business? Also a bad match. Seeing reports about Skynet's profit to earning ratio? Also fun. Speed Channel, one of my favoritest channels ever? Bad match again. A report comparing Lewis Hamilton to a cyborg and Russ Brawn to the guy that initially developed The Turk is the best for which one could hope. FX, baby. FX. They gave us The Shield and are presently rocking out with Damages. I'm hoping they want to challenge SciFi.

I am, however, totally on board with the FX idea. Does anyone know how the Terminator ratings compare to other FX shows like Rescue Me and Nip/Tuck? I know they canceled one of my favorite shows - The Riches - but I have no idea what the ratings were for that show either.

Despite big cable network viewership for Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's speech, the premiere of FX's new series "Sons of Anarchy" drew an encouraging 1.2 rating and 1.5 million viewers 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research. The series, about a motorcycle gang, ranked third among non-news cable programs for the night. The ratings eclipsed those for both the premiere of the final season of "The Shield" on Tuesday and last year's series premiere of FX's "Damages." The premiere of "The Shield" drew a 1 rating, down from the 1.1 for last season's premiere. So, if just half of the viewers followed it to cable, it would do pretty darn well. Then again, how much more does it cost to produce? On the other hand, I really like the Fox News idea. Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Post script to the Finale: If FOX thought cancelling my show might going to help it pull more Friday primtetime viewers, last night's much ballyhooed Prison Break ratings may be a rude awakening. From TVbythenumbers.com: Sorry for the delays in posting this… The question on everyone's mind was how many people would watch *Prison Break? Apparently more people had that question than actually watched Prison Break's* return. The original episode at 9pm drew a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating and 3.38 million viewers. That was a little bit worse than I expected. There were fewer people watching broadcast television last night because CBS ran all repeats, but anyone who was hoping Prison Break was going to be a better lead-in for *Dollhouse* than *Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles* has now given up that ghost! I actually did think that Prison Break might be a slightly better lead-in, but didn't think it would make any difference for Dollhouse's numbers. We'll have to wait and see what happens next week. But for now it looks like FOX has inched one step closer to returning to unscripted content on Friday night. Speaking of which, with CBS in repeats, ABC won the night in terms of 18-49 year olds with its unscripted fare, and NBC found itself in the rare Friday position of winning an hour and having the most-watched hour of the night in the adult 18-49 demo with the 10pm hour of *Dateline*. You can compare with previous Friday overnight reports.

Plus the show has already been cancelled, so it doesn't exactly help bring in new viewers. I think what this shows more than anything is that Friday nights are a big pile of suck for TV. Any show that FOX puts on Friday nights is going to be in the 3-4 million viewer range.
