I liked that she laughed, because what he said was funny. I hate it on TV shows when people don't laugh at things that would be funny to them. Most things
viewers find funny aren't funny to the characters, but I love it when they actually laugh at something that is funny

I picked up on that, too.
Perhaps it's the sign of a terrific ensemble cast gelling, or maybe a signal that Penny doesn't hate Howard as much as the last ep posited. But still: terrific little detail. Another nice detail: she let Sheldon get all the way through his ceremony at her door: knock knock knock Penny? time three. |

I would like this show more if the laugh track wasn't programmed to piss itself every third sentence or so.

Lorre always films before a live studio audience -- Dharma & Greg, Two & a Half Men, and now BBT.
If you compare laughies vs. the other two leading sitcoms How I Met Your Mother and My Name is Earl, both of which are filmed on multiple stages (and like Joy's mother: "Don't judge me."), I think you'll find that laughtrack noise isn't THAT obtrusive. Maybe he's adding to the volume, but my bet is that the audience is actually laughing. This show is no King of Queens/Everyone Love Raymond. |

2ManyAndersons wrote:This is my #1 complaint about this show. I think it's funny (not as great as most people but definitely better than your average sitcom) but the laugh track is so obnoxious. Someone from another board I go to said they attended a taping, and that it's mostly the natural laughter from the audience you're hearing (although he did say that one scene didn't really get a reaction from the audience yet had a huge laugh on the show). I'm vehemently opposed to laugh tracks in general but this show in particular just goes over the top with it. That said, last night's BBT was better than last night's HIMYM. I'm not a big fan of the Kripkey character (I don't know, I just find the accent annoying and think it's a really cheap way to get a laugh--although I did find him calling Penny "Woxanne" amusing) but otherwise, it was a great episode, especially Leonard dragging Sheldon away from the little girl ("Don't look towards the security cameras"). |

Sheldon driving = amazing. "My bad!"...."student driver!" "I'll hit you in the face with a pillow" All of it...so good. So very damn good. |

I was very disappointed that tonight's show was a repeat
I had gotten all worked up before hand |

CBS ran reruns across the board -- perfect burger from HIMYM, A-L-A-N "Anal" from 2.5 Men, and this.
All three are excellent eppies though. But I wonder why the reruns? The February sweeps about to begin? |

Still being relatively new to this show, it wasn't a repeat for me. So I definitely enjoyed myself immensely.

from the Toronto article:
...With little industry buzz and even less promotion, The Big Bang Theory is one of the few sophomore series actually gaining viewers, up 16 per cent over its debut season, gaining fast on its entrenched CBS Monday night lead-in, Two and a Half Men, with a growing audience currently topping 11 million in the U.S...This is great news! I knew it would catch on, it is the only sitcom that I started watching in the last 10 years that I have stuck with and love. Glad to hear it is GROWING in popularity!! now.. more Sheldon and Penny please... |

Johnny Powers wrote:If there was ever a running joke in this show, this is it. And boy is it a great one. Another great episode. I didn't actually laugh as much as some episodes past, but I still wished it didn't have to end when the 30 minutes was up. I had an epiphany the same time the audience did when Penny was explaining Kurt and his debt repayment. Admittedly I was not expecting that. Poor Leonard. |

Another solid LOL episode. Sheldon is the funniest character on TV in ages. What ever happened with Leonard's doctor girlfriend? I thought I had seen every
episode, but I have no clue as to why she isn't around or why Leonard broke up with her. I like Sara Rue, so hopefully she's still around. Answers

BermudaTriangle wrote: Re-watch the second episode of this season, where Sheldon had to leave the apartment so that Leslie and Leonard could have sex (Sheldon had to play video games on his laptop in the stairway). Basically, Leslie believes in loop quantum gravity, whereas Sheldon believes in string theory, so when Leslie needed Leonard to back up her beliefs, and Leonard didn't (he sides with Sheldon's string theory theories), she breaks up with him. |
