I would prefer they say "People" magazine instead of making something up like "Person" magazine. I think its more annoying, liek when a
Soda can is obviously Coke, and they keep the C and replace the "oke" with "ola."

The name of the magazine wasn't just mentioned, it was part of the storyline.
I think the writers must have been told to write an episode that revolves around "People." And, what about choosing to say, "People," "Person," or "popular magazine?" It wasn't just a casual reference as part of a conversation. If there weren't advertising dollars from "People" involved, there might not have even been an episode that involved a popular magazine. |

Just curious...why do you have such animosity about "product placement" ? I'm pretty much oblivious to it & didn't notice the laugh track either. I guess I'm too busy laughing since the show is so damn funny. |

I don't understand the whole problem with using the actual items so the show seems more realistic.

People magazine and the other reference are part of pop culture and part of the world we life in. Much better then in the olden days using made up products
similar looking in packaging and name to the real product. If it bothers you that much, crawl back in your hole and don't watch television.

Because of product placement, the commercials are now part of the show, so if I want to see the show, I can't avoid watching the show's
"commercials."
Products aren't just used casually to make a show more realistic. It's one thing to decide whether to offer a character a "Coke" or generic "cola." But, if characters are sitting around a table, and "Coke" cans are prominently displayed, that looks like obvious product placement. In the same way, "People" wasn't just casually mentioned once, as part of a conversation; the characters kept repeating the name of the magazine. |

What difference does it make in the grand scheme of things? People does in fact have those type of articles, so it stands to reason that is the magazine they
would use.
Sounds a little nit-picky to me. It's not like i'm gonna go buy People and think he's actually featured in it. |

Is that really true about the hot air hand dryers?

I know no one would buy "People" to look for the article mentioned on the show, but whenever "People" is mentioned on the show, it
supposedly influences people to buy the magazine.
I heard that about hot air dryers before it was mentioned on the show. |

The only thing mentioned on this show that ever has any influence over me is the Chinese food. I always want to eat Chinese take-out after watching it!
Maybe next week I'll order Chinese take-out, read my People magazine and play some Halo! |

Not the funniest episode, but it had some great laughs. I loved the driving simulation and Penny hitting him with a pillow after he crashes ala air bag.
This is the only show that I laugh out loud. DMV: "Application?" Sheldon: "No I'm more of a theorist"... the writers are brilliant |

On this episode, Radio Shack and Pottery Barn were mentioned repeatedly. When they said that Sheldon would learn how to drive, I thought that they would
advertise a car: they mentioned Ford Taurus.

Penny is really cracking my ass up lately. This show rocks!! |

sheldon's concerns about the dmv questions was priceless. "how else are they going to learn?"
1) how many car lengths should you leave in front of you when driving? "there is no possible way to answer that. a car length is not a standardized unit of measure." 2) when are roadways most slippery? "there are three answers, none of which are correct. the correct answer is: when covered by a film of liquid sufficient to reduce the coefficient of static friction between the tire and the road to essentially zero, but not so deep as to introduce a new source of friction." that, my friends, is how i want my dmv test questions to be worded!
