Well, colour me stupid...I'm used to people in real life mentioning brand names so often that I didn't even realise there was "product
placement".

"product placement" is an urban myth...
now if we could just teach canadians to spell "color" correctly, all would be right in my world... |

Geeks are trying to use popular culture and it's 'products' cool by recalling their names. They constantly reference video games, movies, now cars
and a very popular magazine. It is just part of the writing, not a concerted effort to make you buy Bentley's and People magazines.
The show is FUNNY! And if you can't enjoy the pure pleasure of the great acting and laughs, your loss. Sheldon's smile.. someone make a gif for an avatar!! "..we are not trying to kill Batman..." |

I don't see this show as full of product placement. More like rife with pop culture references. Which I quite enjoy.
"I have a Master's degree." "Who doesn't?" |

I like that they're doing more with Raj and Wolowitz.
Loved the 'Hello Dr and MR. Wolowitz scene. |

Sheldon's fake smile had me lol'ing every time he did it. So funny he wanted a griffin. Penny with Raj's parents was funny, too. Loved
Charlie's cameo.

Sheldon has completely stolen this show. He's siimply brilliant.
Penny and Lenord are still good but Rash is a complete waste and Howard is a little too sexually creepy and creepy looking for a comedy. Still one of the better sitcoms to come down the pike in a good long while. |

I think I've realized what's keeping me from moving beyond my "like but not love" feelings for this show. The laugh track is so over-the-top
and extreme--I hate laugh tracks in general, but since BBT has a higher joke-per-page ratio than most sitcoms, basically every other line is followed by
obnoxious guffaws and applause, especially Sheldon's lines. I don't think there's ever been a more grating laugh track in the early years of any
sitcom; they're always annoying but it's usually towards the later years that they become excessive, like when Kramer would walk into Jerry's
apartment and we'd have to sit through 30 seconds of mindless applause.

Add me to the "never even noticed it" crowd.

I'm usually too busy trying to keep up with the dialogue and getting the nuances of some of the jokes.......I really need to tape it and watch it a second
time. I always feel like I missed something.

I'm too focused on all the product placements.
Just kidding. I've never noticed the laugh track either. |

I don't find this show any worse than other CBS shows for product placement - if I watched more NBC/ABC, I"d probably notice it there too - it's
all over the place. It used to be taboo - watching old shows like Roseanne, and you'd see the logo changed out by one letter.

I was just joking about the product placements.
Some poster earlier said they refused to watch the show any more because they were disgusted by the product placements. I couldn't give a shit about the product placement, myself. |
