S2 builds and S3 with the Connor/Wes drama is amazing. S4 is the most epic season imo and is one of the best Buffy/Angel seasons ever. S5 is good, better than 5 but not as strong as the 3 seasons before. And yes, S7 is probably the worst Buffy/Angel season EVER. Everyone is so out of character, the episodes are boring as heck (there was like five where they didn't even leave the house), it was cheap looking, Spike was supposed to be the "hero" and there was just a feeling of apathy to it.

Once in awhile a good episode turned out but things didn't start picking back up until the last five episodes. Basically everything in between Showtime and Dead Girls felt like a filler.

Crap. I've read that Emma Caulfield wanted off for no chance of spinoffs, and then I've read that Joss told her he'd never kill off her character. As for why Anya, it pretty much had to be her. Joss said he wasn't going to get rid of any of the original 4 because there's no way to have a happy ending. Faith was in line for a spinoff. Joss felt there needed to still be a significant death. My guess is that it was between Dawn and Anya. In terms of connections to other characters, Dawn dying would've made any semblence of Buffy being happy they survived completely wrong, so it had to be Anya. They also killed off Amanda, the potential slayer who had the most background (we knew she was a student/somewhat friend of Dawn; it wasn't like she was a nobody that just showed up).

Posts: 288 (11/09/09 9:58 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I'm horrible, I came to Buffy and watched seasons 1-3 on TV, and then fell out w/ watching TV in general for a couple of years. Later, I picked up the DVD's, and rewatched seasons 1-5. I let season 5 be the end for me, as I heard mostly complaints about season 6 and season 7. I have seen a few episodes from seasons 6 and 7, but to me, Buffy ended when Buffy died. I too heard the same thing about Anya being killed off for the same reasons as PJ said. I would really love for a tell all about Buffy to come out someday and tell us all what really went on behind the scenes. It would be a best seller.

To This day I can watch thos episodes and continue to LOL at moments. Especially DOuble Meat Palace, if you ever worked fast food you find humor in the whole situation. Gone was hilarious because of everything going on in the episode, the social worker showing up and finding the "magic wheat" and believing it was pot. And then Buffy making the social worker think she was insane by messing with her while invisible.

S6 was dark and depressing because it was SUPPOSED to be that way. Buffy's life sucked. BtVS was by far the most consistently interesting TV show ever. The fact that we're still talking about it 5 years after it was cancelled proves that!

Posts: 1574 (11/10/09 7:12 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	^yeah Season 6 I really liked for characters other than Buffy because they got more story time and had the opportunity to fight and do stuff on their own which was a great character build, though I didnt like seeing Buffy so wierd and almost "gross"? ha Buffy wasnt my favorite character that season but the other seasons I loved her. That is very interesting about Anya, I'm kind of surprised that she didnt want any spin-off deals since she really hasnt done much other than this. I still wish that Dawn or Faith would have died instead of Anya but it is what it is. I think that had they have killed one of the 4 original characters, like Xander, then that episode could have been possibly the most dramatic/most insane/best episode ever to be aired on television of any show ever.

Ew and her and Spike was so wrong...all of it. The writers had such an infatuation with him when she should have been staked seasons ago My fave season is 4 I think...I loved Buffy adjusting to college, Giles being left out, the Halloween episode, Thanksgiving episode, the Initiative, Riley, the introduction of Tara and of course..Hush, the dream episode etc.

What could have been!

Say it ain't so.... he was the most annoying & boring character ever... even when he was "cheating" on Buffy with the vamp-ho he was boring. Mind you I floved Spike more than I ever cared about Buffy. Thought the sex scene in Smashed was really hot and hated Buffy when she beat the shit out of him in Dead Things.... and then ignored & seeming laughed about his injuries in Older and Farther Away (?).
