His story is the most interesting - the constant fight for redemption and never feeling like it is enough. And Buffy/Angel is still my favorite 'ship in all of television. Its epic. That nonsense with Buffy and Spike was just crap. It completely derailed the mythology of the show to pimp something that never should have happened.

Angel had a much better body & the whole redemption thing is swoony. Spike never wanted redemption- he just wanted Buffy. I can't get into a guy who's willing to give up his entire blood-thirsty lifestyle just for one blond, butt-kicking girl with issues.

He got better as Angel went along but he was always overshadowed by supporting characters. Spike was great when he was evil, especially his relationship with Drusilla. He was really annoying when he came back all nutty at the beginning of the last season, but I still think he's a better character.

Ugh. Trying to erase The Initiative/Adam storyline from memory. That was the worst of the big bads IMO.

I remember reading that the Big Bad was going to Professor Walsh but something came up so they sped things up and then killed her off with her creation of Adam. There were quite a few storylines that got botched from what I remember reading. As much as most people hated Adam, I actually kind of liked Adam as a Big Bad, I especially liked the final fight with Adam, when Buffy/Will/Giles/Xander become one. Basically Uber Buffy kicks some major ass. Season 4 had some really strong episodes and then some of the worst episodes. The one with the old lady, and the children, I forgot the name of it, but that one sucked.

When Spike got his soul, he didn't change. He just was kinder but with that same edge. I really wished there was a spinoff with him as the main character Angel was the usual brooding sort-of-boyfriend type. When he was evil, he was simply annoying. With a soul he was just too ordinary. Riley .... was indeed a whuse. He just never really worked in the show and I was glad when he departed. The three nerds had more personality. Last Edited By: THEMADEBOXER 05/20/08 9:40 AM.
