It was just so random. "I'm a witch...oh look, a lesbian witch. I guess I'm a lesbian." Of course I realize that many gay people date the other gender before embracing their gayness or whatever, but it was just so random. And I really liked Oz with Willow, they were cute together. I've also read that they were debating between making Xander or Willow gay. Personally, I think Xander would have made more sense, and I don't get why they didn't go with him. Always hanging around the two girls, the Larry scenes...it just would have made more sense I guess. Of course for whatever reason, it seems like lesbian relationships are more "acceptable" on network TV. Like everyone else said, the high school years were best. My personal favorite season was probably the third as we had Oz, Angel, Cordelia, Faith, and The Mayor all in that season. It was great. The show just wasn't as good without Angel/Cordelia, and Spike/Anya just felt like cheap replacements in my opinion. Spike and Drusilla were probably my favorite villains because of the humor they brought. And of course, Drusilla was excellent at playing psycho. Oh. And the worst part about Willow becoming a lesbian? KENDRA. Or whatever that psycho slut's name was in the last season.

I mean, Joss had been hinting at Willow's homosexuality before (her vampire self seemed to be "a little gay," if you'll recall). Besides, I don't really buy Willow as a complete lesbian either. I think her relationship with Tara has grown out of more "you make me happier than I am with anyone else" type deal rather than a "let's go off and have hot lesbian sex" type deal.

I agree with that completely. She was absolutely in love with Xander, and then "um, never mind". And I guess it was hinted at with the Doppleganger episode, but that was after they had already made up their minds most likely. That was probably "Omg, quick! Throw this in so it makes a little bit of sense." It wasn't really a progression of her character. To me, it also seemed like a plot device. And Shadow, I guess that makes sense, but I don't know if you've seen the seventh season. Willow/Kennedy's (right, Kendra was that weird accented slayer) relationship had nothing to do with them being close.

Though it started abruptly, I thought it was one of the most beautifully portrayed gay relationship on television - initially a gimmick or not.

The entire first three seasons he made sexual comments about women, despite having that gay-ish tone to his persona. I still think making Willow gay was better, simply because she seemed like the type that doesn't care about the person's sexual organ and she cares about the person on the inside.

The way it came about simply didn't gel with me one bit. They made more sense as a couple later on but it doesn't do away the sledgehammer blow Joss delivered to us from out of nowhere.

They're the season 2 finale and are two of my favorite episodes ever (though, I hate seeing Kendra die). I think part of the reason I love these two are because these are the first two episodes I saw that had me watching the show regularly. I also forgot how much I love the episode "I Only Have Eyes For You." It's the one where the ghosts of the student and teacher who were lovers possess people in the school, recreating the night he killed her. At the end, the guy possesses Buffy and the woman possesses Angel. It was this scene that Joss says he realized Angel could carry is own show. Just another reason why I think season 2 was the best. Oh, and one more note on "Becoming." When Joyce finds out Buffy's the Slayer, could it be any more like coming out of the closet? Buffy talks about it not being a choice and wishing she wasn't like that and Joyce talking about how she doesn't understand why she can't just stop.

Froggy, I completely agree with you on the Drusilla does an excellent crazy. I absolutely adore the woman when she gets all looney tunes. "Run and catch...run and catch" My favorite season on the whole was Season 5 though. Maybe because it dealt with a lot of personal family issues that I don't think had been brought up on the show before. (Yes, I did think "The Body" was good, mostly for the reason it encapsulated everything I felt when I found out my grandma had died and brought back a lot of feelings from that time) I do agree that the Riley episodes at the beginning sucked because he was completely useless after the collapse of the Initiative and I was ecstatic to see him leave. One of my "guilty pleasure" episodes is 'Crush' featuring Dru and my other love, Harmony. Her Buffy impersonation was hilarious when Spike asked her to role play with him as the Slayer. I still haven't seen the 7th season, however, because I'm getting into Angel right now. I think, on the large part, it has a much more even and well-rounded tone than Buffy, which had its shares of highs and lows.

You could tell that most of the core characters didn't really want to be there and that was disappointing. I mean why else would they introduce like 30 fucking new people in the show's final season when it really should have been about the gang. UGH! Joss I'm still pissed, I mean Kennedy?! COME THE FUCK ON! Anyway, Characters I hated.. Dawn (Trachtenberg SUCKS!) Riley (God he was such a pussy, lol) Plot twists I hated.. Anya sleeping with Spike (WTF?!) Buffy getting with Spike (Worst relationship in the Buffyverse, EVER) Xander ditching Anya at the alter (HELLO! Xander you got FAT! You should feel lucky.. she could do way better) Adam as Season 4's villian (Prof. Walsh, that was all you :'() Cordelia going to Angel ::tear:: People that disappeared.. Giles girlfriend Olivia, was that her name? I duno.. the black lady who was hella hot and way outta Giles' league. What the hell happened to her, she came back for the crazy dream episode then who knows. :/ Favorite episode and I don't even know why.. "Older are Farther Away" It's Buffy's birthday and they have her a surprise party, YAY! Wouldn't you know dumbfuck Dawn gets Anya's v. demon friend to cast a spell on the house so no one can leave or even realize it's time to leave. WHY? Because she's not getting enough fucking attention, GOD! I hate her. :( But that episode had like everyone in it and almost the entire episode was filmed in the house, that was different. There was the hot guy too, Xander's friend, and Buffy's friend from the Doublemeat Palace. lmao. That's ANOTHER great episode! Crap I typed a lot I'm Buffied out.. ::wheez::

It is 1st on my list, and disk 1 keeps going from "short wait" to "long wait" then it was at "available now" right after they sent me something else. Now it is at short wait again.

I loved everything about it, and Anya still ranks as my favorite character from any TV Show, movie, video game..etc. With that said, I'm also Anit-Riley. God...words can not explain how much I hated his character. I have the first 5 seasons on DVD...and I try to avoid the Riley-episodes. I know this is a different show, but how many of you loved the way Cordelia turned out by the end of Angel season four. :p

Joss also says a lot about not being able to do what he wanted to in the last season due to budgets and scheduling. I kinda liked Buffy and Spike, though she belonged with Angel. It was disappointing when Spike chose Buffy over Dru (before Buffy fell for him). Spike and Dru are the equivalent of Angel and Buffy. They belonged together.
