SARAH Murdoch is the new host of the TV show Australia's Next Top Model after signing a two-pronged deal with Foxtel.
Murdoch will also act as an executive producer on the show, while her contract with the pay television network also involves the creation of documentaries by her production company Room 329.
Murdoch told The Sunday Mail she was excited by the new ventures after looking to move back into television for some time.
"This is a great fit for me and I'm excited about making the documentaries also," the 36-year-old mother-of-two said.
Australia's Last Top Models in pictures Murdoch, who replaces camera-shy Jodhi Meares as host, said it was imperative she did more than front the format in a bid to positively portray the models.
"Being involved on all levels was really important to me," she said.
"Particularly with a show like Top Model because I know the business, I understand it and I feel like I can really contribute on every level as far as with the girls and how they're portrayed and set them up for their careers hopefully.
"There are issues within the show - it's been contentious in the past in terms of bullying and body image - and they are things I'm ready to tackle head-on and ensure there's a real care for the girls."
Murdoch, a former model who is married to Lachlan Murdoch, gushed about her old career.
"It's an amazing business if you're smart and have the right people working with you," she said.
"And if these girls are going to come into the business I'd like to help them along the way."
Murdoch said she had been inundated with television offers after her successful stint with the Today show last year.
She said the production schedules attached to Model and the documentaries were desirable.
"The great thing is this is a series of work, it's not like the Today show which is on 52 weeks a year.
"It's a series, you do it and then it's done. I love being a mum so this is the perfect time commitment, it really works well."
