Yeah, the first review seemed a bit nitpicky. Who cares about what clothes she's wearing?
I want to know about the acting, the writing, the plotting. I'll give this show a try. Like I said, I'm sick of the 24 ripoffs and the huge ensemble dramas with plots that move as slow as molasses. The Friday night timeslot is a bit worrisome, though. |

I was about to start a thread on this but searched just in case.
Anyway, big news! The show is moving to THURSDAYS, 8/7c before GREY'S ANATOMY! A lot of industry insiders and critics who have seen the pilot all wanted this to happen, looks like ABC finally caved and gave this series the timeslot and night numerous people say it deserves. As for the two new comedies, "Big Day" and "Notes from the Underbelly" that were supposed to air before 'Grey's' on Thursdays --- ABC is holding them off until Dancing with the Stars wraps to have a full night of comedy. Speculation says they'll be put on Tuesdays with that Mick Jagger comedy and "Help Me Help You" (the one starring Ted Danson). |

That's good news. The Friday night timeslot would have ensured cancellation for this show.
At least now it will have a fighting chance. |

So ABC's lineup for Thursdays is now Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy and Six Degrees?
I guess my TV's going to be on ABC all night. |

I'm completely FLOORED that this show has emerged as the critical darling of the new Fall season. Near universal acclaim for the pilot and the episodes that follow.

Because ABC knows they've got a gem on their hands and they want to throw it into the competitive mix.
Ergo, pissing off viewers such as yourself  I personally only watch "Survivor" (although I'd like to get into "The Office" this season as well). It's gonna be tough, my DVR can only record 2 things at a time.

this show makes me feel shitty, i have to hold off on gettting into Earl and the Office for another year because of this show.....I was really looking forward to the Friday night schedule.

ABC's revamped website says you can view the first 8 mins but everytime I click on it it shows a 1 minute promo for the show.
On the actual Ugly Betty website, however, they have several clips from the show and they're HILARIOUS. |

UGH why does this have to be on on Thursdays ? I have 2 much to watch, Survivor and The Office are on at the same time and then this. I hope they encore this show on Saturdays or I won't be able to watch

It is an adaptation of Betta la fea from Columbia(IIRC) which has been shown for a long time on the networks from Mexico.
Sounds like a good plot. |

I'm with you, Sunshine. I've already got the Tivo doing Survivor and we watch Earl/Office live. If Betty stays Thursday nights, I'm going to have to do something drastic like hook up the *gasp* VCR.

I just looked at my tivo and it lists "Ugly Betty" as airing again on Friday at 7 pm (PST) on the Family Channel. I don't see it for the following Friday night however.
