The sky is the limit. This brave the new world. All told from the Jericho perspective from the characters we know. Sorta like if you were to do a series about, oh I don't know, maybe John Adams and the Revolutionary War and its aftermath. |

They certainly did give us a satisfying ending, but they also left it open-ended enough move on to another season.

Great episode. I felt as though I was watching the equivalent of 72 hours of "24" in a single hour. You could just see all the plot lines in that
last hour...and I think it was structured very well.
Bravo to the writers in constructing an excellent plot line. Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse....bang! Texas to the rescue. (And it was unexpected). Very brilliant. I believe that the writers and the cast have really proven themselves. If it goes to Sci Fi, Sci Fi will pick up 7 million loyal viewers. They'll also pick up very strong DVD sales (I'll buy both seasons). I think it would outperform battlestar gallactica. I think they could actually use some of the existing case. I think the plot lines stringing out from the war, and compelling in-town Jericho lines could be very promising indeed. Hell, much of the Star Trek franchise survived on less. |

Interesting idea if the show ends up on Sci-Fi ... Galactica finds Earth and ends up smack dab in the middle of the Second Civil War.
Who would win in a face off between Edward James Olmos and Esai Morales? How long before Skeet and Starbuck hook up? |

And this ending was the perfect way to end a series on short notice - if the move to try to get a pick up from a cable network doesn't pan out. I am really crushing on Beck now though. And the soldiers ripping off their patches at the end was a really nice touch. |

If it had to end, then this was a good way.
LURVED Super Skeet going all Top Gun. That was AWESOME when the Texas ANG came flying in. YOU GO TEXAS. It was a nice editing job jumping back and forth between Bonnie's funeral and Jake/Hawkins. Also pleased to see that Johnston was brought up again. Loved the "Don't Tread On Me Flag" Overall a good final episode. |

Oh, and the Morse Code for the last three episodes is:

You take the first six or seven epis from S1 (Hawkins and the Bomb, Hawkins vs the Conspiracy), the fall season recrap, all of the spring season of S1 and the
seven epis from this season and you have quite a bad-ass DVD collection.

I'm surprised that that was the plan B series finalie. It would have been a good season ending episode with a lot of room to work for next season.

Talking points? Hell, I dunno...
All I did was write a 2-sentence plea. I said I was one of the millions of faithful viewers of Jericho and that if they picked it up, they would have my undying loyalty for ever and ever. That's pretty much about it. If you ask me, I really think it is the quantity of letters they receive, rather than the quality, that may persuade them to pick it up. If they got a few MILLION letters it might just make the difference. I'm still in mourning right now. |

I read somewhere that the original ending had Hawkins sacrificing himself by getting captured so Jake could get away, and the cliffhanger would have been
getting Hawkins back once the war was declared.

The Jericho Finale You Didn't See: An Inside Look
Lennie James by Monty Brinton/CBS
TVGuide.com: Will viewers have any burning questions coming out of the alternate ending/series finale? Carol Barbee: Let me see.... I can tell you that in the original ending, Hawkins has to sacrifice himself to let Jake get away with the bomb and get it to Texas so it can be tested and prove that they were telling the truth. Texas would then swing their support to Columbus and defeat Cheyenne. TVGuide.com: Does Hawkins mortally sacrifice himself, or just let himself get captured? Barbee: Well, he gets captured but he's also shot.... He's pretty messed up, and Jake feels like he's leaving him for dead. So we show you where he's taken and you see that the mission for the next season is, "We have to go rescue Hawkins and we have to stop these [bad] guys." When they see the alternate ending, it certainly completes the story from this season and tells you everything you need to know to have understood Season 2. It just doesn't point to that next mission. You meet John Smith, the guy who's been pulling the strings. It's [played by] Xander Berkeley (24). You've heard him on phone calls, and Hawkins is surprised by who he is and where he is. So you know who John Smith is, you know who planned the attacks, you know why, you know how.... TVGuide.com: Now it's just a matter of making things right in the United States? Barbee: Right. We would have moved on to the next level of a civil war between the Cheyenne government and the Columbus government. But if your readers do have any more burning questions, let me know! TVGuide.com: If Jericho does find a new home on another channel, will Season 3 work off the alternate ending or the original cliff-hanger edit? Barbee: What we would do is take the information that is in the original ending, and that would be the opener for the next season. When we leave them at the end of the original ending, we've got Hawkins back and he's OK, but we still need to go fight the larger fight. I've always said that the alternate ending doesn't wrap up the series. It just lets you know that everyone is OK and it closes out this seven-episode arc. But we could definitely keep it going! |

carol did a radio show last night
main points carol did a radio show last night main points Summary of Carol Barbee on Shauns show last night, here is what she said: CBS PARAMOUNT 1) Keep contacting CBS paramount and Nancy Tellem to tell them you want Jericho to keep going. Be polite but let them know Jericho's audience is still here. The studio (Paramount) is very motivated to see the show continue because its an asset. CBS on the other hand is done. CBS PARAMOUNT NETWORK TV 4024 Radford Ave. Studio City CA 91604 Attn: Nancy Tellem President, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group 323 575 2380 SCi-FI CHANNEL 2) Originally Sci-Fi wasnt looking for new episodes but they are getting ALOT OF PRESSURE!! And talks are still in the works. (our information was correct - we continue after Sci-Fi like we've been doing for days). Yes, it would be helpful to post on Sci-Fi's forum (forgot who asked, sorry) The budgets are not that far off and Carol feels that they could work within the budgets available without too much trouble. 3) Also, COMCAST/Direct TV like the deal with Friday Night Lights! (More on this later). 4) Speaking to CBS' Movie Division about a movie also. 5) RP asked when CBS will pull the message board, she doesnt know but will find out. 6) Cast is still on board if it continues 7) Hawkins is still alive, rest easy (question from Shelby) 8) The line about "how does it feel to make history" was for the fans!! 9) It matters what we are doing. It is able to be measured by the networks. |
